1、汉语分句的翻译,一、名词短语法,英语中名词多；汉语中动词多。英语中用名词或名词短语来表示动作概念。可以将汉语分句中的一些动词转译成英语的名词，将该分句中的其他成份转译成对应的英语中名词的后置定语。例如： 市场格局发生了重大改变引发了新一轮国产彩电价格大战。 A major change in the market disposition pattern has given rise to a fresh round of color TV price war among home TV manufacturers.,香港回归祖国，标志着“一国两制”构想的巨大成功。 Hong Kongs ret
2、urn marks the great success of the concept of “one country, two systems”. 美国的军火销售经久不衰，为美国的军工业带来了丰厚的利润。 1) The prolonged prosperity of arms sales in the United States has brought huge profits to its military industry. 2) American arms sales have been prolonged business, bringing huge profits to the U
3、S military industry.,二、分词短语法,把原文的主要信息译成主句，把次要信息译成分词短语。例如： 到2050年，我国老年人口将达到4亿，约占世界老年人口的1/5. By 2050, the old people in China will reach 400 million, accounting for one fifth that of the world.,作为亚太地区最重要的经济合作论坛，APEC应发挥领导作用，帮助各成员国抓住机遇、迎接挑战。 As the premier forum for regional economic cooperation in the
4、Asia Pacific region, APEC should play a leading role in helping its member economies embrace the opportunities and challenges.,三、介词短语法,把原文的主要信息译成主句，把次要信息译成介词短语。例如： 要把水资源的保护、节约和开发放在突出位置。加强规划，合理配置。 We need to give priority to protecting, economizing and exploiting water resources through careful plann
5、ing and rational allocation. 这里物产丰富，气候温和，是全年适合的旅游胜地。 It is an ideal place for tourism all the year round with its abundant resources and mild climate.,四、动词不定式短语法,把原文的主要信息译成主句，把次要信息译成动词不定式短语。例如： 目前消费市场不景气，各店家大多数靠降价吸引顾客，赚取利润。 In the current consumption depression, shops largely count on prices cuts to
6、 attract customers in order to earn profits.,运用现代化经营方式和服务技术，改造传统服务业，提高服务质量和效益。 Up-to-date management and technology should be applied to renovate traditional services sectors in order to improve their quality and efficiency.,五、提取公因式法,将公共主语提前，使句子译成简单句。例如： 我们应加强调查研究，倾听学生们的意见，反映他们的要求，为他们排忧解难。 We should
7、 make solid investigations, lend an attentive ear to opinions from the students and reflect their needs and requirements so as to help solve their problems.,吸烟污染空气，损害健康，使肺癌发病率大大增加。 Smoking pollutes the air and harms the health, therefore increasing the incidence of lung cancer greatly. 中国政府在普遍提高人民生活
8、水平的同时，高度重视解决贫困人口的温饱问题。 While improving the peoples living standards across the board, the Chinese Government has attached great importance to ensuring that poverty-stricken people have enough to eat and wear.,六、并列句法,用“AND”连接两个分句。例如： 中华文化是维系全体中国人的精神纽带，也是和平统一的重要基础。 The Chinese culture is the tie that keeps the entire Chinese people close at heart, and it also constitutes an important basis for the peaceful reunification of the motherland.,
