(4) The research topic matches your interests and capacities. If you can outline these points clearly in a proposa
3、l, then you will be able to focus on a research topic and finish it rapidly. A secondary purpose of the proposal is to train you in the art of proposal writing. Any future career related to the English language, whether it be in TEFL or academia will require these skills in some form. Structure of t

5、 a thesis or an academic paper. You will be able to use a large fraction of the material of the thesis proposal in your final BA thesis or course paper.Contents A. Title page The title page contains a short, descriptive title of the proposed research project. The title should be fairly self-explanat
6、ory. It also presents the author, institution, student number, research supervisor, supervisors professional title, and date of delivery.B. Thesis statement The thesis statement presents your thesis in a couple of sentences. This statement can take the form of a hypothesis, research question, projec
7、t statement, or goal statement. It should capture the essence of your intended project and also help to put boundaries around it. C. Table of contents The table of contents lists all headings and subheadings with page numbers. The subheadings should be indented.D. Significance of the research This s
8、ection presents the reason(s) for the research. You should explain why it is significant and important theoretically and/or empirically. In other words, you should make clear what the theoretical and/or practical value of your research project is. In order to justify the theoretical value for your i
9、ntended research project, a brief review of previous literature in the relevant domain(s) is needed here.E. Feasibility of the research This section serves to illuminate that the topic is feasible in that you are available in the theoretical foundation, research tools and methods, empirical data and
10、 reference materials. You should also make clear that the research topic matches your interests and capacities.F. Approach / methods This section contains an overall description of your approach, materials, and procedures. You should explain How would you approach to the issue under discussion? What
11、 methods will be used? What materials will be used? - How will data be collected and analyzed? Do not include results and discussion of results here. G. Work plan including time table - describe in detail what you plan to do until the completion of your research project - list the stages of your pro
12、ject in a table format - indicate deadlines you have set for completing each stage of the project, including any work you have already completed - discuss any particular challenges that need to be overcome H. List of references - cite all ideas, concepts, text, data that are not your own - all refer
