They are so dangerous that big -wave surfer Maya Gabeira was nearly killed during a wipeout in 2013. Snake Island, Brazil Snake Island, also known as Ilha de Queimada Grande, is home to the “world's deadliest snake”—the golden lancehead viper. Its poison is said to easily melt human flesh.
