二、教学目标语言能力:掌握常用的表达科学研究步骤的词组及关于霍乱和疾病的相关语料,如find supporting evidence, collect data,track, infection, germ等;利用阅读技巧,获取梳理文本中有关John Snow的身份信息和阻止霍乱蔓延的facts; 把握文本发展脉络,分析并阐释情节发展的几个步骤文化意识:了解伟大科学家的坚守品质和成就,理解科学研究中的“实证精神”;体会当下传染性疾病对世界造成的影响和科学给人类世界带来的希望思维品质:借助流程图和地图等多模态的信息提炼信息,发展逻辑性思维,分析,论证,推断霍乱传播的原因学习能力:学会将复杂任务拆解成一个个小目标,游戏闯关式地综合利用推理和归纳等手段解决问题;提高合作研究性学习和自主学习的能力三、学情分析本节课根据高二四班和八班的学情设计,班级大部分学生能掌握学习英语的主动性,但仍有部分学生需要更有针对性地引导和教学方式才能享受学习的乐趣因此本节课采取问题导向化的情境式教学模式,鼓励学生自主解决任务,在游戏般的“完成任务”中自然而然地掌握科学话题相关词汇和阅读技巧高二学生已具备一定的英语听说读写基础,在选择性必修一 Unit1 单元的学习中,已经熟知科学相关话题下“卓有成就人物”和其典型代表人物—屠呦呦和爱因斯坦,并积累了一定关于人物品质方面的词汇。
在本课时对主要人物John Snow科学研究的过程进行探讨,可以对已学知识进行内化和输出;在人格养成的重要时期,学生对于“科学家”的认知只存在初级阶段,不能形成全面的认知,仍需要进一步感受认知冲突,体会质疑的勇敢和被质疑时的坚守,形成正确价值观四、教学重难点1.To figure out the main facts and structure of the text.2.
