2、8 Appendices 1.0 SCOPE 1.1 This specification governs the thermal insulation for * Project. 1.2 This specification shall not be applied to packaged equipment by manufacturers (machineries, valves, etc.). 1.3 This specification covers the minimum technical requirements for thermal insulation of Hot S

3、ervice Vessels, exchangers, equipment instrumentation, and piping operating in the temperature range 0oC to 600oC. It is intended for use by all disciplines connected with the Project. 1.4 In this specification the word “shall” indicates a requirement that is to be adopted in order to comply with th

6、 No: Revision: 00 Issue Purpose: IFA Document Title: SPECIFICATION FOR HOT INSULATION The insulation shall be applied in accordance with good industrial practice and when finished shall have a neat and workmanlike appearance to the satisfaction of Owner. The Contractor shall keep his working locatio

7、ns in a tidy condition and shall remove all his waste and surplus material from the site at the end of the contract or any other time when, in the opinion of Owner, said removal is necessary for safety of personnel or any other reason. 2.2 Preparation Prior to the installation of insulation all stee

8、l surfaces shall be dry, clean and free from grease, and dirt. Partially insulated surfaces shall be fully painted, and fully insulated surfaces shall be fully primed, in accordance with *-ED-N-0001. The installed Paint System must have an authorized acceptance certificate prior to the installation

9、of any insulation. 2.3 Testing Equipment which is to be hydrostatically pressure tested after installation shall not be insulated until such tests has been successfully completed. Equipment which has been successfully shop tested may be insulated prior to field test, except for joints made in the fi

10、eld. Piping is to be pressure tested before insulation is applied. 2.4 Extent of insulation a) Insulation is required for General heat conservation of equipment and piping above 70oC. On large surfaces insulation may be justified for lower temperatures. Personnel protection on surfaces with a temper

11、ature of 60oC or higher in areas where personnel contact is likely. Temperature stability of processes or products, e.g., to avoid condensation, solidification, or too high a viscosity. This may be required for any operating temperature. b) Each line shall be insulated separately; adjacent lines sha

12、ll not be enclosed by a common insulation cover. c) Insulation shall not be applied, except for personnel protection, to equipment and piping which are designed to emit heat or where cooling is required by the process e.g. piping to air coolers. d) Piping valves and flanges shall not be insulated ex

13、cept in steam service, traced or jacketed services or special cases where thermal overstressing would occur if not insulated. This includes flanged joints whose temperature/material combination is such that omission of insulation would overstress the bolts. e) Nameplates, thermo well bosses and pres
