2、e topic of this unit is women of great achievement. This period contains warming up, Pre-reading, reading and comprehension. The part of Warming up introduces six great women at home and abroad. I just use several familiar women considering students reality. The reading introduces a day of Jane Good

3、all and her colleagues observing the chimps in the forests as well as Jane Goodalls working methods, her great achievements. The part of Comprehension is to check students understanding of the text with four different tasks.,1.The content of teaching material:,2. Statue and function:,Part1 Analysis

4、of teaching materials,This part provides the most important reading materials which can bring out the topic of the unit “women of achievement”, and contains most important words and sentence structures. Reading the passage, the students can improve some reading strategies such as predicting, skimmin

5、g and drawing conclusions. This part will also be helpful for students to learn the rest of this unit.,Part2: Analysis of the students,1. Knowledge aspect: Senior one students are familiar with some great women and their qualities but they dont know much about Jane Goodall and what she did. 2. Abili

6、ty aspect: Senior one students can describe great women in simple English, which contributes to class discussion. However, they are not quite able to conclude the main idea by finding the topic sentence. 3. Emotional aspect: Senior one students are quite active and they are willing to participate in

7、 class activities.,Part3: Teaching Objectives,Knowledge aims: 1. Students will be able to speak out Jane Goodall s achievements and ways to protect the chimps by answering questions and retelling. 2. Students will be able to list some qualities concerning Jane Goodall and other women of achievement

8、by brainstorming.,Ability aims: 1. Students will be able to conclude the main ideas of the four paragraphs by finding the topic sentence, key words and matching. 2. Students will be able to describe some great women after learning the structure of the text.,Emotional aims: 1. Students will improve t

9、heir recognition of the social role woman play to build up Ss (especially female Ss) confidence and social responsibility. 2. Get the students to believe that ones personality as well as ability is important to ones success. We should learn a lot from Jane and make great contributions to making a be
