3、 the birthplace of silk, and Hangzhou was already known as “home of silk” (丝绸之 国) in China about 1300 years ago.Silk MuseumSo, the museum is a must-see place for those interested in silk. Its the first national museum dedicated to silk culture and the biggest silk museum in the world.Silk MuseumThe
4、museum is located at the foot of Yuhuang Hill (Jade Emperor Hill, 玉皇山) south of West Lake. Silk MuseumIt was open to the public in 1992 with an area of about 8000 square meters. 12、hard to tell which fabric is real silk or a fake one although silk has its natural luster (光泽). Identifying the SilkHowever, one quick test may be helpful to you. You can put a flame (火焰) to the threads of the sample fabric with a lighter.Identifying the SilkIf the flame goes out immediately and the
13、 burned threads turn into ashes quickly, then you can tell it is real. Otherwise, it is fake. Identifying the SilkBecause silk is natural protein fibre (蛋白纤维) and wont burn easily.
