1、内蒙古师范大学教育硕士学位论文 3 中 文 摘 要 中 文 摘 要 衔接是篇章语言学中的一个重要概念,在英语语篇中,衔接起着举足轻重的作用。 然而,在中国的英语写作教学中,衔接的重要性却未引起人们足够的重视。 研究发现大多数学生的作文缺乏明显的衔接和连贯。学生在这方面的不足促使我们把衔接融入到写作教学中,以期提高他们的写作成绩。 写作是语言的五项基本技能之一, 也是外语教学中不可或缺的一环。近年来,由于新课程标准中写作目标的颁布以及高考写作评分标准的变化,越来越多的高中英语教师意识到写作教学的重要性。 本文首先论述了本研究的背景、概况和意义,分析了国内外相关研究。接着讨论了衔接与连贯的关系,并

2、阐述了韩礼德和哈桑的衔接分类方法。在讨论了本研究的理论背景后,作者提出了假设衔接知识的教授有助于写作成绩的提高。 本文通过定量和定性的方法分析了衔接教学对高中生英语写作成绩的影响。在本研究中,受试者为临河三中学生。除了实验班多了衔接的教学内容之外,两个班的其他教学内容完全一样。每个班都完成了 8 篇作文(包括前测和后测), 其中实验的前测和实验的后测作文均由经验丰富的教师按照全国高考英语考试的写作评分标准单独评分。在分析过程中所采集的数据使用 SPSS11.5 分析。通过 T-test,作者发现,实验前两个班的成绩无明显差异,但实验后实验班的成绩内蒙古师范大学教育硕士学位论文 明显高于控制班。

4、linguistics, plays an important role in English texts. However, cohesion has been neglected in English writing teaching in China for along time. Researching in EFL writing reveals that lack of cohesion and coherence can be seen in most EFL students compositions. The suggestion of applying cohesion i

5、n English writing teaching is raised. However, few people ever did any empirical researches. Writing is one of five basic language skills and is an indispensable part in the English teaching. In recent years, due to the issue of writing objectives in the new curriculum standards and score changes of

6、 the standard college entrance examination in writing, many senior English teachers realize the importance of English writing teaching. In this thesis, the author first introduced the background, general description and significance of the present study. Then discussed the relationship between cohes

7、ion and coherence, and elaborated the Halliday and Hasans (1976) taxonomy of cohesive devices. After a full discussion on the theoretical basis of the present study, the hypothesis was put 内蒙古师范大学教育硕士学位论文 forward: the teaching of cohesive devices can help students improve their writing performance.

8、Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to analyze the use of cohesive devices in compositions written by students of No.3 Middle School. In this study, Class 25-the experimental class (EC) and Class 15-the controlled class (CC) were taught the same content except the EC adding cohesion teach

9、ing. They also did almost the same amount of exercise. The two groups finished eight papers (including the pre-test and post-test). Moreover, the pre-test and post-test in EC and CC were rated by experienced teachers independently, who relied on the rating scale of writing in NMET. And the SPSS 11.5

10、 was used to do the calculations. The T-test showed that there was no significant difference between EC and CC in the pre-test, but significant difference in the post-test. Results of the study confirmed the hypothesis and demonstrated that the ECs improvement could be attributed to the use of cohes

11、ive devices which reinforced the textual meaning and made the papers coherent. Thus, they could help the readers to interpret the papers easily and correctly. In a word, applying cohesion devices to the senior English writing teaching can arouse the students to use the cohesion device consciously as

12、 usual. In addition, it can make the passage coherent and fluent, at the same time; it can improve the writing level.
