Cultural awareness: 1) Exploring and discovering the environment of the new school. 2) Knowing about American school syste

Thinking qualities:1) Obtaining information and reconstructing the meaning according to the discourses and topic in this module. 2) Accepting different school systems and expressing personal opinions with the information learned in this module. 4. Learning ability: 1) Using proper learning stra

4、tegies to complete the learning tasks in this module. 2) Learning to deal with mistakes. II. Important points1. Some new language items in this module, especially the new words, phrases and sentence patterns. 2. Reading comprehension of the reading passage, My First Day at Senior High, and talking a

5、bout high school life. 3. Grammar: Revision of the present tenses and adjectives ending in ing and -ed. 4. Listening, speaking and writing practice. III. Difficult points: 1. Guess the meaning of the words according to the questions and words and then learn the usage of some words. Main

8、and difficult point: Revie of the words about subjects, talk about the subjects and learn some new words and their usages. Teaching and learning procedures: Step 1 Lead-in Introduce the teaching topic and contents of this module. Step 2 Introduction: Vocabulary and speaking 1. Task1 Review the words

9、 about subjects at school. Activity: Get the Ss to close their books and write down all the subjects from their memory in English in their exercise books. Ask 4 of them to write on the Bb. And then check the spelling 2. Task 2 Talk about the subjects. Activity 1: Get the Ss to answer the questions a

10、bout the words in the box together. (Teacher explains the new words: academic, IT., technology)Activity 2: Complete the sentences with a subject and a reason in pairs. Activity 3: Work in pairs to prepare a brief presentation and then choose a few Ss to give a brief presentation in front of the clas

11、s. Step 3 Vocabulary in Answer the questions about the words in the box Task1 Answer the questions to understand the meaning of some new words. Activity: T guides the Ss to guess the meaning of some new words according to the questions and answers, and then answer the questions. Task 2 New language
