1、否定句的翻译,否定转移,1、think、feel、believe、hope、imagine、suppose、expect、trust等词构成的否定句后面带有宾语从句时，形式上是否定的主句的谓语，汉译时则要否定从句中的谓语动词。I dont suppose she will come。我猜她不会来。I dont think he would help Tom. 我觉得他不会帮汤姆的。I really dont expect that would have happened. 我确实希望那事没发生过。,2、句型“not.until”常被译为汉语的肯定句“直到.才”。We did not notic
2、e his absence until morning。直到早上我们才发现他不在了。He did not turn up until the meal was over. 一直到吃完饭他才出现。,3、否定句“not.other than.”原意为“除了.就不.”，汉译时常变为肯定句。 We did not like him other than he is now。我们就喜欢他现在这个样子。,4、“cannot（can scarcely，can hardly）.too.”、“Its impossible to do too. ” ）之类的句子可以翻译成汉语的“无论怎样.也不会过分”、“无论怎样
3、.也不可能过分”，也可以译成肯定句。We cannot be too careful in doing experiments。我们做实验要加倍小心。/我们做实验无论怎样小心也不过分。Its impossible to speak too severely of his conduct。无论用怎样苛刻的言辞批评他的行为也不可能过分。You cant be too careful when you drive a car. 开车时要特别小心.,特殊否定句的翻译,. 英语的特殊否定句在汉译时有时可以找到相应的句式，但多数情况下其含意与形式是相悖的，汉译时需根据其意进行相应转换。有的句子形式上是特殊
4、否定，而意义为一般否定，如：He said nothing。他什么都没说。（原句中no修饰宾语thing，译句中“没”修饰谓语动词“说”）Neither road will take you to the station. 两条路都不是通往车站的. （原句中neither修饰主语road，译句中“不”修饰谓语动词“是”）No ordinary student can solve the problem. 一般学生无法解答这个问题. （原句中no修饰主语student，译句中“无法”修饰谓语动词“解答”）None of them is the man I saw last night. 它们都不
