The main aim is to develop a u

3、seful educational tool which presents the time and frequency characteristics in basic electrical circuits. It is designed as a helpful instrument for lectures and laboratory classes. The predominant audience will be students of electrical engineering from first semester of the higher education. Ther

4、efore the level of knowledge at this stage of education is not high enough and different techniques are necessary to increase the students interest and the efficiency of teaching process. This educational instrument provides the needed knowledge concerning the basic circuits and its parameters. Grap

5、hics and animations of the general processes in the electrical circuits make the problems more interesting, comprehensive and easier to understand.For designing such an instrument the National Instruments programming environment LabView is used. It is preferred to the other simulation software becau

6、se of its simplicity flexibility and also availability (the free demo version is sufficient to make a simple virtual instrument). LabView uses graphical programming language and has powerful mathematical functions for analysis and simulations. The useful visualization tools for presenting different

7、diagrams are worth recommending, too. It is also specialized in measurement and control and it supports a wide variety of hardware. Therefore this software is suitable for laboratory classes to present the dependencies between the simulated characteristics in basic electrical circuits and the real o

8、ne measured with the hardware device. For this purpose a two- channel oscilloscope is designed as part of the described project. The main purpose of this instrument as part of the educational process is to present the desired characteristics of the electrical circuits and to become familiar with the

9、 general functions of the oscilloscope. This project combines several important features appropriate for teaching purposes well presented information with graphics, easy to operate with and giving the necessary knowledge. This method of teaching is more interesting and attractive to the audience. Al

10、so the information is assimilated more quickly, with less effort.1.PROJECT REALIZATION1.1.SIMULATION OF BASIC CIRCUITS IN LABVIEWThe simulation consists of presenting the time dependencies of voltage and current in basic electrical circuits. For mathematical representation of the circuits the voltag

11、e-current equations (1) over the passive elements resistor R, inductor L, capacitor C, are used (Fig.1).Fig.1 The simulated RLC serial circuit.In the frame of this project the following circuits are simulated: single elements R, L, C; RL, RC, RLC serial and parallel. However for realization of the c

12、ircuits there is a difference between the simulations for the various types serial or parallel. Different sources should be applied in order to follow the same mathematical pattern of this project. In parallel circuits the voltage source is used and then currents are calculated, on the other hand in

13、 serial circuits the current source is applied and voltages are resulted. For this part the difference in simulations of electrical circuits is not a big problem because it is sufficient to present only the phase offset between voltage and current, their amplitudes and how they vary in the term of e

14、lements parameters (resistance, inductance, capacitance) and frequency.According to the equations (1) for their realizations in the block diagram the following mathematical and control functions are used: integration and derivation, signal generation and front panel control functions.Fig.2 The modul

15、es used in the simulation instrument.Integration and derivation are very easy applied functions in LabView. It is only needed to set the proper initial and final conditions (Fig. 2). The input signal has a form of discrete samples as one-dimensional array. Also signal generation is easily realized w

16、ith single block.
