1、英语中常见的一些暗否定表达 英语中的否定结构大体分为两类： 明否定和暗否定。 1. 结构“在the last+n.()+to dothe attributive clause” 中， 表示“最不可能的，怎么说也不会的”. eg: He is the last man for me to invite . He is the last person Id have expected to see here. This was the last thing I would do. 英语中常见的一些暗否定表达 2. 在短语“ fail to do =be unable to do”( 未能没有) “
2、 notnever fail to do”(一定,务必). eg: I never fail to keep my word. He failed to follow my advice. 3. 句型 “somebody +be above +n.V-ing =somebody+be unwillingto do sth. ” 表示“不屑, 不耻于”. eg: He is above such conduct. He is above asking questions. 4. 短语 far from 表示“远远不,一点也 不”. He is far from a good driver. Im

Your performance are far from satisfactory. 5. 短语anything but “根本不,决不,一 点也不” morethan (与其倒不如 ) beyond “非可及,超出范围” but for “要不是,如果没有” That old bridge is anything but safe. 5、这里已3年) 8. 短语 “tooto” “太而不能”(注意特殊 情况) 英语中非否定意义的否定句 英语同汉语一样有肯定句和否定句之分，但 由于修辞和短语或习语表达法的需要，有的形式 是否定而意义则是肯定的；有的形式虽是肯定， 但具有否定意义。英语中非否定意义的否定句很 多，下面简单地介绍几种： 英语中非否定意义的否定句 1. 在含有cannot 的一些句子里： a). cannot help （V-ing）. 情不自禁 地 When we listen to the crosstalk, we cannot help laughing. b). cannot thank.enough 感激不
6、尽 I cant thank you enough. c). cannot.too/over. 总不嫌过分；越.越好 You cant praise her too highly. d). cant but + 动词不定式. 只好，不得不 I cant but agree with you. 我只好同意你的意见了。 2. nothing （no, nobody.） . but . 只(不过),不外乎： Nobody but Joe can do it. 3. 否定疑问句表示赞叹或鄙夷 （等于一个感叹句）： Smell these fresh flowers! Arent they sweet?
7、 4. no sooner. than.; hardlywhen （仅用于过去时） 一 . 就 . No sooner did we get there than it began to rain. 我们一到达那儿，就开始下雨了。 5. to be only (but, all) too. to. 非常乐于做某事： Joe was only too glad to visit our school. 6. 表达双重否定的句子： a). to be never/not too + adj. + 动词不定 式 We are never too old to learn. b). 否定结构 + 否定
8、意义前（后）缀词 You shouldnt be careless of consequences. c). without （= but for 一般用于虚拟语气） could not do. 要不是. 就不. Without （but for ）air and water, we could not live. d). 否定词 + 具有否定意义的动词（否 定意义的动词的否定结构也归入此类） Fortunately, we didnt miss the bus. 7. not （+ 瞬间动词，如 come, stop, begin, leave, go, melt, part）.until （till）. 直到 才 She didnt go to bed until （till） after midnight. William and Mary didnt part until they reached the station.
