2、has spent his lifetime studying active volcanoes and deep caves in all parts of the world.In 1948,he went to Lake Kivu in the Congo to observe a new volcano which he later named Kituro.Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes.It lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and
3、Rwandarund n.卢旺达(东非国家),and is in the Albertinelbti:n (western)Rift艾伯丁裂谷,a part of the Great Rift Valley.Lake Kivu empties into(注入)the Ruzizi River,which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika,tnji:k.The name comes from kivu which means lake in Bantu language,just like the words tanganyika or nyanzani
