1、并列句 The compound sentence,熟读下列句子, 体会并列连词的意义和用法。 I like English and she likes English. He is not only a teacher but also he is a doctor. Hurry up, or youll be late. 4. He is very young but he knows a lot . 5. He failed in the exam, so he is unhappy.,熟读深思,由两个或两个以上的简单句并列连接起来的句子叫并列句。 并列句的基本句型： 简单句+并列连词/
2、连接副词+简单句 并列连词: 连接两个对等的(或平行的)词、短语或句子,并列句,其它并列连词 （1）表示联合： not only. but (also). 不仅而且 both. and. 和都 neither. nor. 既不也不 （2）表示选择：either. or. 或者或者 （3）表示转折：not. but. 不是 而是 （4）表示时间：be doing sth when . 正在做某事，这时 be about to do sth when . 准备做某事，这时,一表示联合关系的并列连词 1.and “和，以及” The train was comfortable and the peo
3、ple are nice. and 除了表示联合关系，还表示顺承关系。 I turned off the light and left the room.,一表示联合关系的并列连词 2.both. and.（和都） （1）连接两个并列的单词或短语。 She can both speak English and sing English songs. 连接的两个成分作主语，谓语动词要用复数。 Both Tom and I are students.,一表示并列关系的并列连词 3. neither. nor. （既不也不） He neither smokes or drinks. 连接的两个成分作

5、not only置于句首时，not only 引导的句子用部分倒装结构，即将 助动词、情态动词或be 动词提到主语前。,I not only heard it, but (also) I saw it.,Not only did I hear it, .,三表示对比关系的并列连词 1. while “却，而”，表示两种事物或情况之间的对比。 Some students are active while others are shy.,四表示因果关系的连词和副词 1.因果连词so 后面接句子表示结果; for 后面接句子表示原因。 I was ill,so I went to see a doc

I went to see a doctor, for I was ill. 2.副词therefore也起到并列连词的作用。 后面的逗号可有可无。 He was tired, therefore(,) he went to bed early.,五表示转折关系的连词和副词 1. 连词but 后面没有逗号，副词however后面必须有逗号 对比：He is young, but he knows a lot. He is young. However, he knows a lot. 2. not. but.(不是 而是) He is not my brother but my fa
