1、Unit 3 Language in use,状语从句 状语从句（Adverbial Clause）指在主从复合句中用作状语的句子。 （1）时间状语从句 用表示时间的连词连接两个句子，该连词所引导的从句就是时间状语从句。引导时间状语从句的连,词有：when, before, after, while, as soon as, until, since等。如： My mother was cooking when I came in. 我进门时我母亲正在烧饭。 （2）地点状语从句 地点状语从句表示地点、方位，这类从句通常由where引导。如： Put the medicine where you
2、 can easily get it. 把药放在你容易取的地方。,（3）原因状语从句 引导原因状语从句的连词有：because, as（由于）, since（既然）, now （that）（既然）等。 because回答why引导的问题, because和so在同一句子中不能同时使用，只能用其中一个。 （4）条件状语从句 由引导词if或unless引导的状语从句叫作条件状语从句。如： If you work hard, you will succeed. 如果你努力工作，你将会成功。,We will hold a sports meeting unless it rains. 除非下雨，不然我
3、们将举行运动会。,（5）目的状语从句 目的状语从句是用以补充说明主句中谓语动词所发生的目的。表示目的的状语从句可以由that, so that, in order that等词引导。目的状语从句的谓语常含有may, might, can, could, should, will, would等情态动词。如： Could you speak louder so that everyone can hear you? 你能讲得大点儿声以便大家都能听得到你吗？ I study hard in order that I can go to a better university. 我努力学习是为了能上
4、更好的大学。,（6）让步状语从句 让步状语从句意为“尽管；即使”。引导让步状语从句的连词主要有：though, although, while, even if, even though, no matter+疑问词。切记although, though不可与but连用，但可以与still或yet连用。如： Although/Though it was raining heavily, he still went on working. 尽管雨下得很大，他仍然继续工作。,（7）比较状语从句 比较状语从句主要运用于形容词和副词的原级、比较级与最高级的句子之中。原级比较的引导词有：as, as.a
5、s（和一样）, not so（as）.as.（和不一样）, not A so much as B（与其说是倒不如说是）；比较级的引导词有：more.than（更）, the more.the more., no.more than；最高级的引导词有：the most.in/of, the+形容词的最高级形式.in/of。如：,He runs as fast as others. 他跑得和别人一样快。 This story isnt as/so interesting as that one. 这个故事没有那个有趣。,（8）方式状语从句 常见的引导词有表示“像”的as和表示“好像”的as if/
6、as though。,（9）结果状语从句 结果状语从句是用来补充说明主句中谓语动词所发生的结果，通常位于主句之后。常由so.that或such.that引导。如： The man got such a surprise that he even couldnt say a word. 这个男人吃了一惊，以致于一句话都说不出来了。 The box is so heavy that I cant carry it. 这个箱子太重了，我搬不动。,【注意】so.that.句型可以转换成too.to.或not.enough to的简单句结构。如： The boy is so young that he
7、cant go to school. The boy is too young to go to school. The boy is not old enough to go to school. 这个男孩还太小，不能去上学。,【话题呈现】 本模块围绕“English for you and me”展开话题，要求学生写一篇关于语言的文章，如“The Future of Chinese”。在文中，可以提供一些合理的建议与提示。,【佳句荟萃】 My favourite subject is English. 我最喜爱的科目是英语。 More than three quarters of the
