Law is ancient, dating back at least to the Code of Hammurabi, written by an
3、ancient Babylonian king around 1760 BC.,二 法学,1 法律 Laws are enforced by the police, supported by the court and prison systems. Laws are written by legislators, such as senators or congressmen. Laws must uphold and not contradict the Constitution, a document outlining the most basic rules of the count
4、ry.,二 法学,2 法理 Jurisprudence is the study of law, specifically legal philosophy and science. There are numerous branches of jurisprudence which focus on a range of issues, from whether or not law should exist to what sort of penalties are appropriate for violations of the law. The term is also used t
5、o refer to a specific branch of law, such as environmental jurisprudence, or medical jurisprudence.,二 法学,2 法理 The concept of jurisprudence has been around for quite a long time. Both the Ancient Greeks and Romans considered the philosophy of law, and earlier societies probably did as well.,二 法学,3 司法
6、实践 In its most general sense, the practice of law involves giving legal advice to clients, drafting legal documents for clients, and representing clients in legal negotiations and court proceedings such as lawsuits, and is applied to the professional services of a lawyer or attorney at law, barriste
7、r, solicitor, or civil law notary.,二 法学,3 司法实践 However, there is a substantial amount of overlap between the practice of law and various other professions where clients are represented by agents. 8、ng number of legal document assistants (LDAs) are offering services which have traditionally been offered only by lawyers and their employee paralegals. Many documents may now be created by computer-assisted drafting libraries, where the clients are asked a series of questions posed by the software
