3、具体化增译 在Vi, Adj, Abstract N单独译出的意思不明 确时，可添加“状态、工作、过程、作用 、方式、情况、问题、部分、领域、系统 ”等词，使含义具体化。 Faced with sharing a dinner of raw pet food with the cat, many people in wheelchairs I know bleed the system for a few extra dollars. 我认识的许多坐轮椅的人面临与宠物猫分 吃生猫食的窘境时，都会向福利机构多骗 取一些钱。 At low frequencies, the DC resistanc

7、 dry cells. 和普通干电池相比原子电池体积小，重量 轻。（增加“体积”与“重量”使small和light 的概念清楚） （2）Speed and reliability are the chief advantages of the electronic computer. 速度快，可靠性强，是电子计算机的两大 优点。 Speed and reliability增译为“ 速度快，可 靠性强”，使概念准确，逻辑严密。2）语言逻辑性增译 （1）关联词配对出现 如果则， 一旦就会，不论都 虽然但是，因为所以, 不仅而且. （2）关联词添加 Most of the vapor turns t
8、o liquid in the condenser and returns to the flask. 大部分蒸汽经冷凝器凝聚为液体，再回到烧瓶 中。 And形式上连接两个并列动词谓语，实际上表示 前后承接关系，增加关联词“再”使汉译更加清晰 准确。（2）关联词添加 White or shining surfaces reflect heat: dark surfaces absorb it. 白色的或发亮的表面反射热，而黑暗的表 面吸收热。 上例原文为无连接词并列句，暗含对比与 转折，因此添加“而”。3.修辞性增译： 重复性、显豁性、分解、 生动如增加描述性词汇、语气助词等 In sleep
9、 the doors of the mind are shut, and thoughts come jumping in at the windows. 眠时心门键闭，思念不能夺门，乃自窗跃 入室中，遂尔成梦。1）不能夺门：隐性因果关系显性化 2）入室中与思念的来路“自窗跃”相暗合 3）遂尔成梦 看似无中生有，实则彰显原文 隐含的逻辑意义。显豁性、修辞性增译 As the lights dimmed, the blind man asked, “What do your fellow tourists look like?“ “All nationalities, colors, shape
10、s and sizes, a gallery of human faces,“ I whispered. （Book4-Unit3 B-ll37-40） 光线暗下来，盲人问：“那些游客们都长什么模 样？”“他们来自不同国家，肤色、体形、个头也 都不同，简直就是一个不同种族人的大聚会，” 我低声说。 1) 重复性增益（英语多替代，汉语多重复） The 12 months of the year were divided into units of 30 or 31 days, except that in non-leap years the month we call February had
11、 only 29 days. 一年有12个月，分为大月和小月，大月31 天，小月30天。每逢非闰年，2月只有29 天。 如果不增译，直译为“一年的12个月分为 30或31天的单元”，既不流畅，也难达意 。2）显豁性增译 在直译难以达意时，增加点缓和语气或补 充说明性文字，使含义明确流畅。 Pairs of shared electrons must spin in opposite directions. 直译：“共享电子对必须按相反方向旋转” 会产生歧义：共享电子一起旋转？与哪个 方向相反？ 增译：共享电子对的两个电子必须彼此反 向旋转。显豁性增译例2 Someday people like
12、 me will thrive under a new system that will encourage them, not seek to convict them of cheating. （ Book4-Unit3A-p69） 总有一天，像我这样的福利救济对象将在 一种新的福利制度下过上好日子，这种制 度不会千方百计证明福利救济对象在欺骗 ，而是要鼓励他们自立。 3）分解式增译 Possible change that occur upon exposure to high temperatures may be categorized into bulk, metallurgica
13、l, and surface effects. 高温下可能发生的变化可分为体内效应、 合金效应和表面效应。 原文中effects 为bulk, metallurgical, and surface 共有，需要分解译出。分解式增译 Most caseworkers begin as college- educated liberals with high ideals 大多数社会工作者刚开始时都是些大学毕 业生，有理想，而且思想开明。 There is no provision in the law for a gradual shift away from welfare. 如何逐渐脱离福利照
