He cant drive a car.（二）基本用法（二）基本用法 1、表示能力，意为“能，会”, 此时相当于 be able to 例如：Mary can speak three languages. Jane can swim but I cant. 注意：（1）can 只有一般现在时和一般过去式；而
13、 be able to 则有更多的时态。例如：Ill not be able to come this afternoon. 今天下午我将会来。2、表示请求和允许，意为“可以”。 例如：-Can I go now? - Yes, you can. / No, you cannot/cant. - Can I come to see you tomorrow? - Yes, you can. ( No, Im afraid not. ) Can I have a cup of tea , please? 3、表示可能性猜测，常用于否定句和疑问句忠，意为“可能”。 例如：The man over
