2、the Temple Lesson 89 Step 1 Lead-in Reviewing the similar communicative sentences learnt before.Then bring in the new materials and its language background . (go to some students and ask them some questions like “ What did you do after school yesterday, A ?“.“ What are you going to do today ?“ etc.

3、) While the students are answering them , write down the typical patterns mentioned by the students on the left column of the blackboard. Meanwhile, remind the students of the similar patterns learned before by asking the questions like “ Who can give us some other suggestions ? Please have a try, e

4、verybody.“ Then collect all the useful answers and write down the important patterns on the same part of the blackboard. Then give a brief summary and make comments on the students jobs today. ( Now you can see weve learnt a lot of ways to give the suggestions. The first sentences are the formal one

5、s while the left are not. Try to use them as often as possible in your daily study and life.) Step 2 Presentation Today were going to learn some more expressive ways of advising somebody to do something. Do you want to know about them right now ? ( “Yes,“ the students may or surely answer.) Now , li

6、sten to the new tape of the new dialogue in Lessen 89. Listen carefully and try to grasp the main idea or key words and phrases in it. ( Play the tape.) Dear class, in oder to understand the dialogue better ,Ill give you some questions to think about. Now Ill play the tape again. Then try to give me

7、 some proper answers . The questions are : 1. What are the White family doing in Egypt? 2. Whats the weather like today ?3. What are the new ways of making suggestions ? 4.What does each person want to do today ?( Play the tape.) While the students are answering the questions, write down the new way

8、s of making suggestions appearing in the new dialogue on the right corner of the blackboard. Then check the answers to “ What does each person want to do today ?“ Step 3 Explanation Now Ill explain some difficult points appearing in the new dialogue .If you find some , please put up your hands and a

9、sk me immediately. Key points: 1. appositive structure : the town of Aswan. 2. prefer to do something , prefer A to B , prefer to do something rather than do something / instead of doing something. 3. feel like : 第1 页two meanings: 1)touch and know by feeling, eg. Water in winter feels cold . Anythin

10、g with water feels like ice. 2) want or wish to do .In usage “feel like “ doing sth. while “ want or wish “ to do sth. 4. on the edge of : near. 5. whoever : anyone who .6. burn: make the skin black, red or injured by the strong sunshine, etc. Anything else ? If not , read the dialogue in pairs. The

11、n exchange the roles later. Step 4 Practice Work in groups of four and have a similar dialogue. You can plan a visit to a place of interest, such as the Yuan Shikais Tomb, the Ruins of the Yin Dynasty, Beijing , Shanghai, Mount Tai, and any places youre familiar with. (Give the students 8-10 minutes

12、 for preparation. Then ask 3 or 4 groups to come to the platform and carry out the dialogue they made up.) O.K. Which group likes to give a dialogue first ? Who are the volunteers? Oh yeah, A ,B and C, your group first, please. (direct the other students to give a cheer of praise after each group fi

13、nishes their job.) Step 5 Consolidation Ask the students to give a comparison between the communicative patterns written on the blackboard (left to right ).Reinforce the new patterns weve learnt in this period by doing some exercises at page 89. Step 6 Assignments In oder to strengthen the students

14、interest to English study, you can give them homework in a humourous or funny way just like “My dear class, do you want to know much more knowledge about the famous High Dam in Egypt ?“ (The students will surely answer “ Yeah!“ or “Yes ,of course.“ ) Please preview the new lessen ,Lessen 90.Then you

15、r dreams will come true .At last ,dismiss the class by saying “ Goodbye“ each other. Writing design or draft on the blackboard ( below ) ( Omitted ) Seminars: After the lecture ,theres a talk about the comments or remarks upon it by the leaders, experts , and collegues in the English circle of Anyang City, who attend the meeting and sit in on my class.Most of them think highly of my lecture and encourage me to make greater progress in my future work.
