1、 Pride and PrejudiceThe Author Jane Austen (16 December 1775 18 July 1817) was an English novelist whose realism, biting social commentary and masterful use of free indirect speech, burlesque and irony have earned her a place as one of the most widely-read and best-loved writers in British literatur

2、e. Austen lived her entire life as part of a large and close-knit family located on the lower fringes of English gentry. She was educated primarily by her father and older brothers as well as through her own reading. Austens artistic apprenticeship lasted from her teenage years until she was about t

3、hirty-five years old. During this period, she wrote three major novels and began a fourth. From 1811 until 1815, with the release of Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814) and Emma (1815), she achieved success as a published writer. She wrote two additional n

4、ovels, Northanger Abbey (written in 1798 and 1799 and revised later) and Persuasion, both published after her death in 1817, and began a third (eventually titled Sanditon), but died before completing it. During her lifetime, Austens works brought her little fame and only a few positive reviews. Thro

5、ugh the mid-nineteenth century, her novels were admired only by a literary elite. However, the publication of her nephews A Memoir of the Life of Jane Austen, in 1870, introduced her life and works to a wider public. By the 1940s, Austen was firmly ensconced in academia as a great English writer, an

6、d the second half of the twentieth century saw a proliferation of Austen scholarship that explored many aspects of her novels: artistic, ideological, and historical. Currently, Austens works are among the most studied and debated oeuvres in the field of academic literary criticism.citation needed In

I loved the story very much not for its romance but for the character of the ladies and men.As we all know,

9、Elizabeth and Darcy are two famous characters no matter in the literature or the art. We can see many trances of that time from them. The book shows us not only the romance and the persistent for love, but the society at that time. We can learn the etiquette, custom and the way people lived. The boo

10、k annotated the relationship and differences between the poor and the rich very well, and the words and thoughts all reflected what the people tried to acquire at that time. It is a social book worth reading.I loved the story, especially Elizabeth ,the wise ,smart and pretty lady. The remarkable fea

11、ture of the lady is that she was different from all her sisters because of her thought ,behevor and wisedom. She dared to do what she couldnt ,persist what she shouldnt, and love what she really wanted. Her courage surprised me, and her persistent shocked me, and her self-esteem and self-respect mov

12、ed me. In the reality ,maybe many girls who lack of courage dare not to persist because of the kinds of forces. I love the character of Elizabeth because of her courage and wisedom which many people should have.Also, I appreciate Mr. Darcy ,the handsome gentlemen. In the beginning of the story, Eliz

13、abeth and Darcy had deep misunderstandings. Elizabeth thought Darcy was proud, and Darcy had prejudice to Elizabeth, so they couldnt accept each other. When Elizabeth cried to Darcy, I was a little sad, because the words were so harmful. The title pride and prejudice may be called Darcy and Elizabet

14、h . What jumped into my mind was that the communication was so important and neccessary. The reason that the story was so complicated was that they learned each other always by hearing and seeing, not by the hearts and themselves. In the reality, we always misunderstand our fiends and family because

15、 of lacking of the good way we communicate. The story has a happy ending, but many times in reality ,it will happens in the opposite direction. On the other hand, I think the girl should be independent physically and mentally. If we want get what we want ,we must be strong in mind.Sometimes we will be in trouble ,sometimes we will be distressed, but we should never be negative. We should persist in what we want ,what we need and what we love, and we must make efforts to make our dream come true not only for love ,but for the destination of our life.
