Disparate wine cultures among nations have come into being. From the
6、 West to the East, from the North to the South, the mosaic of wine cultures has enriched human civilization. By adopting the method of contrastive study, this paper will compare and contrast Chinese and British wine cultures. Based on the introduction to the origins of Chinese and British wine cups,
7、 wine classifications, drinking purposes, drinking etiquette, the author tries to analyze the root causes of wine cultural differences between China and Britain, and to understand different cultural connotations and manifestations between China and Britain. Furthermore, the author hopes this thesis
8、may help broaden the readers cultural perspective, improve intercultural awareness, and achieve effective cross-cultural communication in the wave of globalization.Key words: wine culture; origins; drinking purposes; drinking etiquettev摘 要 酒文化源远流长，在人们日常的交际生活中起着重要的作用。由于中西方的文化差异，也造就了酒文化的不同。因此，本论文将运用对比
9、研究的方法, 对中英两国酒的起源、酒杯、酒种、饮酒目的、饮酒礼仪进行介绍和论述，剖析导致中英酒文化差异的根本原因，进而深入了解中国和英国文化的不同内涵及表现形式。所以导致不同饮酒文化的最根本的原因是饮酒的目的。在中国，喝酒的人比酒本身更重要，酒总是被用作工具。在英国，喝酒的目的很简单。当人们喝酒时，他们只是想欣赏和享受酒。当然，他们喝酒也为了摆脱限制，寻找他们的内心欲望。酒在英国也有传播的功能，但人们认为喝酒中最重要的是追求更好的酒。由于酒文化的差异，中英两国喝酒的目的是不同的。通过深层次地分析中英酒文化的不同，希望能让读者了解中英文酒文化的差异，从而使读者思考中英文化的更深层次的内涵，也希望
