1、 1 1、合成形容词构成方法总结下面就谈谈常见的合成形容词的构成方法：一、数词+名词(+形容词)。例如：a five-year-old boy 一个五岁的男孩a four-hour trip 一次四小时的旅行100-metre dash 百米赛跑an 800-metre-long bridge 一座八百米长的桥学生学习时要注意：以上合成形容词中的名词(year, hour, metre, month等)必须用单数形式。如：不能写成a five-years-old boy，但是The boy is five years old. 中的years是名词复数形式，它不是合成形容词。二、形容词+名词-
2、ed。例如：1. a white-haired girl 一个白头发的女孩a warm-hearted woman 一个热心肠的妇女a near-sighted boy 一个眼睛近视的男童two middle-aged men 两个中年男人a light-hearted boy一个无忧无虑的男孩a three-legged table 一张三条腿的桌子a one-armed old man 一个独臂老人这类合成形容词中的名词常是其前面的形容词所修饰的对象。加-ed的方法和动词加-ed的方法一样。注意one, two, three与形容词相似，那么，three-legged, one-armed
3、等表示所修饰的名词的特征，而不是表示所修饰的名词的数量，这与第一类情况不同。2 三、形容词+分词(包括现在分词和过去分词)。例如：clean-washed clothes 洗干净了的衣服an ordinary-looking man 一个相貌平常的男人an easy-going man 一个随和的人fresh-baked bread 刚烤的面包ready-made goods 现成的货物上面的合成形容词中的现在分词与所修饰的名词是逻辑上的主动关系，前面的形容词相当于表语：an ordinary-looking man=a man who looks ordinary, an easy-goin
4、g man=a man who goes easy。过去分词和所修饰的名词是被动关系，形容词相当于补语：clean-washed clothes=clothes which are washed clean, fresh-baked bread=bread which is baked fresh, ready-made goods=goods which are made ready。四、副词+分词(包括现在分词和过去分词)。例如：hard-working people 勤劳的人们bravely-fighting soldiers 勇敢战斗的战士a well-known singer 一个有
5、名的歌唱家这类合成形容词中的副词相当于状语修饰分词，用现在分词表示其动作是所修饰的名词执行的；用过去分词表示其动作是所修饰的名词承受的。五、名词+分词(包括现在分词和过去分词)。例如：a man-made satellite 一颗人造卫星peace-loving people 热爱和平的人们a man-eating animal 一种吃人的动物a snow-covered hill 一座被雪覆盖了的小山这类合成形容词中的现在分词表示与其后面的名词的关系是主动的，其前的名词是分词的逻辑宾语，合成形容词所修饰的名词是分词的逻辑主语。peace-loving people=the people wh
6、o love peace,a man-eating animal=an animal which eats man；过去分词表示与所修饰的名词之间在逻辑上是被动关系，a man-made satellite=a satellite which is made by man。六、名词+形容词。例如：war-weary soldiers 厌战的士兵a watertight watch 一只防水手表a homesick woman 一个想家的妇女七、形容词+名词。例如：a full-time job 专职工作a second-hand material 二手材料a high-level living
