Globalization has eliminated numerous barriers and made the worldflat ever since it gained momentum in the 1990s. But recently itseems to be rolled back by someone like Donal

3、d Trump in US and MarineLe Pen in France. Public opinions are being misled by their claimthat recoiling from globalization seems to be the panacea to the twomost urgent problems troubling many people in the westemploymentand refugees. But can we buy the story? Withdrawing from TPP seems to be an act

4、 that can move factoriesback from third world countries so that new jobs can be created andtherefore unemployment rate reduced. However, the cost of theproducts would also be raised since the labor at home and thetransport of raw materials are more e 某 pensive, which causes greaterpressure on all th

5、e families in terms of household e 某 penditure.People may manage to get new jobs but the living standard does notimprove. And this is the story that anti-globalization politicianswould never tell to the voters. In addition to the concern of employment, the influ 某 ofrefugees also touches a highly se

6、nsitive nerve. Rejecting asylumseekers may promote domestic security in the short run, but ittramples whats equally important-humanitarianism and第 1页 共 9页responsibilities. Refugees such as those from Syria are not bornrefugees; they are made refugees by the Wars that shattered theirhomes and countri

7、es. The real solution therefore is not isolation butglobalization because globalization promotes interdependence amongnations whereby conflicts and wars are more likely to be prevented. Yes, there are defects in globalization, such as environmentaldeterioration, polarization between the rich and the

8、 poor, and e 某ploitation of workers, to name just a few. But what we need to do isnot putting an end to it but putting it right. As the second largesteconomy of the world, China should hold a lead. We should promoteglobal governance fight against contamination. We should strike abalance between effi

9、ciency and equity so that different countries,different social classes and different groups of people can all enjoythe benefits of globalization. Globalization has just stepped into its twenties, pretty muchlike us young adults. Every twenty something is so energetic,striding to achieve more and sur

Whatworries me is that one day on this way to modernization, we turn backbut are unable to see the link with our origins and ancestors. When

19、were surrounded by skyscrapers and neon glamour, what defines us asChinese? Urbanization does not mean brutally encroaching upon thecountryside and strangling rural culture. It should not sever theties with our beloved homeland. While promoting the countryseconomy, it should also allow space for cul

They make us lose our ability tothink and analyse, or become too realistic to think: if we make onestep out of the set-circle, we will be outcasted and no longer e 某perience happiness. But that is not true. I became an art student ina class of only 5 boys; I broke the fi

47、rst pattern. I didnt applyfor the economy degree, because I hate math; I broke the secondpattern.
