3、ractOn one hand, Inter-cultural communication stresses the independence in different culture; on the other hand, it pays great attention to the connection and communication with each other. The different cultural backgrounds between Chinese and English lead to the different symbolic significance of
4、animal proverb. This paper aims at a better understanding of cultural differences between Chinese and English animal proverbs. The author first describes the concept and characteristics of the proverbs. Then the author compares the animals symbolic significance between Chinese and English. At last,
5、the paper explains the reasons for this phenomenon which analyzed from geography, cultural background, customs, religion and other aspects. So a lot of researchers pay great attention to the cultural study.Language is the carrier of the culture, and they are influencing and shaping each other. Therefore, it is not enough to study a language if you want to deeply understand the language.
10、 The study should be set in researching the forming of the language, culture and the relationship between them. Proverb is an important part of culture. Chinese and English language have a lot of animal proverbs, which reflect respective culture with the differences of geography, cultural background
11、, customs, religion and other aspects. The study about proverb has a relative complete system in foreign and home. A lot of researchers had studied it deeply through comparing the difference of Chinese and English proverb. And they got the reasons for the culture difference. But it is difficult to f
12、ind a unified conclusion under researching the phenomenon of proverbs. This paper tries to analyze the different ways of application in the different culture background in China and British. Then we will improve the level of the English language study and communication capability in cross-cultural c

With the development of the culture globalization and the combination of the culture between Chinese and English, the great change of the meaning of the proverb reflects in every aspect.
