1、连接词，仅仅是起连接作用，在从句中不充当成分；定从中没有连接词，名从的连接词有三个：that、if、whether状从的都是连接词关系词是在句子中充当成分的，如关系代词在从句中充当名词性的主宾表成分。连接词只表示两个句子的连接，表明前后的逻辑关系，而关系词不仅表示连接, 而且在句中具有替代功能，充当句子的一部分。疑问代词和疑问副词在从句中分别被称为连接代词和连接副词（宾语从句）； 从属连词（状语从句）；关系代词和关系副词（定语从句）。宾语从句中表示疑 问。例如：I dont know who you are.（宾语从句） They have left when I got there.（状语从
2、句），I like the boy who is in blue.（定语从句） 区别：分别举例如下：I know the place where he was born .（用关系副词，因为等于 I know the place in the place he was born）再比如：I know the place which he was born in.（用关系代词。因为等于 I know the place he was born in the place.）当然句子中不可以有重复的词语，所以在定语从句中使用了关系代词和 关系副词你只要记住无论是关系代词还是关系副词都是从句中的句子成
3、份。定语 从句是一个完整的句子。关系代词在定语从句中充当主语、宾语、定语。而关系 副词在从句中充当状语。二、whether与if的用法区别两者的用法异同注意以下几点：（1）两者均可引导宾语从句，表示“是否”，常可互换：He asked if whether we wanted a drink. 他问我们是否想喝一杯。He didn t t ell me if whe ther he would come.他没有告诉我他是否会来。【注】若是引导条件状语从句，则只能用if（意为“如果”）。（2）当引导一个否定的宾语从句时，通常用 if 而不用 whether：I dont care if it d
4、oesnt rain. 我不在乎天是否下雨。【注】在个别词语（如 wonder, not sure 等）后的从句否定式有时也可用 whether 引导：I wonder if whether he isnt mistaken. 我想知道他是否错了。(3) 以下情况通常要用 whether 而不用 if： 引导宾语从句且置于句首时：Whether he has left, I cant say. 他是否走了，我说不定。 引导主语从句且放在句首时：Whether he will come is still a question. 他是否会来还是个问题。【注】若在句首使用形式主语it,而将主语从句放
5、在句末，则有时也可用if来 引导：It was not known whether if he would come. 不知他是否会来。 引导表语从句时：The question is whether we should go on with the work. 问题是我们是否 应该继续进行这项工作。【注】在很不正式的场合if偶尔也用于引导表语从句，但远不如用whether常 见。 引导让步状语从句时：Whether he agrees or not, I shall do that. 不管他同意与否，我都要那样 做。 引导同位语从句时：The question whether we need
6、 it has not been considered. 我们是否需要 它还没有考虑。 用于不定式之前时：Im not sure whether to stay or leave. 我不知是留还是去。I didnt know whether to laugh or to cry. 我真是哭笑不得。 用于介词之后时：It depends on whether the letter arrives in time.这取决于信是否来得及 时。I worry about whether I hurt her feelings. 我担心是否伤了她的感情。 直接与 or not 连用时：I will wr
7、ite to you whether or not I can come. 我能不能来，我将写信告 诉你。【注】若不是直接与 or not 用在一起，则有时也可用 if：I dont know whether if he will win or not. 我不知他是否能赢。 在discuss（讨论）等少数动词后引导宾语从句时：We discussed whether we should hold a meeting. 我们讨论了是否要开一个疑问代词和关系代词Who/whom are you waiting for ?Who 是疑问代词，构成特殊疑问句，在句中作主语。The student wh
8、o/that came first is Mary .Who/that是关系代词引导定语从句疑问代词有who ,whom,whose,what,which等，在句子中用来构成特殊疑问句。疑问代词都可用作连接代词，引导名词性从句（主，宾，表）关系代词who,whom,whose,that,which用来引导定语从句主语从句可以由从属连词，连接代词或连接副词引导，且不能省略1）主语从句可由从属连词that,whether引导That he didntcome make me disappointed .Whether he will win is not certain .2）主语从句可由连接代词what,which,who,whom,whose,whatever,whoever,whomever,whichever陈 述语序的从句弓丨导 What you have said might hurt his feelings .3）主语从句可由连接副词when,where,why,how much,how many等+陈述语序的从句引导 When he will come back is what we want to know .宾语从句可以由从属连词，连接代词或连接副词引导，这三楼词在句中功能各异
