1、无锡职业技术学院毕业设计说明书外文翻译Althoughonceconsidereda“nontraditional”machiningprocess,EDMhasbeenreplacingdrilling,milling,grindingandothertraditionalmachiningoperationsinmanyindustriesthroughouttheworld.Sinceitsearlydaysasa“tapbusting”methodover50yearsago,EDMhasdevelopedintooneofthemostadvancedmachiningtechnol
2、ogies.TodaysEDMequipmentusesadvancedComputerNumericalControl(CNC)withuptosix-axessimultaneousoperationandstateof-the-artpowersupplytechnology,whichcanproduceamirrorsurfacefinishand“split-tenth”accuracy.ThetremendousadvancementsinEDMtechnologyhavebeenachievedthroughthecollectiveeffortsofmanydedicated
3、engineersemployedbythemajorEDMbuildersandbyresearchersfromsomeoftheworldsleadinginstitutionsandresearchcenters.Thisreportprovidesanoverviewoftheresearchstudiesanddevelopmentsoftheseinstitutionsandtheactivitiesofprofessionalsocietiesandotherorganizationsthroughouttheworldthatarecontributingtotheconti
4、nuedadvancementsofElectricalDischargeMachining. 8、meseries,whichcontainEDMtechnicalreportsbyuniversities,EDMmanufacturers,orothertechnicalresearchcentersaroundtheworld. InternationalandNationalEDMConferencesandDiscussionForums InanefforttoestablishaforumforthediscussionofEDMresearchanddevelopments,andhelpprovideacourseofinstructioninbasicandadvance
9、dEDMtechnology,severaltechnicalsocietiesandothergroupshaveestablishedinternationalornationalconferencesonEDM. Japan JapanSocietyofElectricalMachiningEngineers(JSEME) Throughoutitsfortyyearhistory,theJSEMEhasbeenthepredominantorganizationanddrivingforcebehindtheresearchanddevelopmentofEDMandthedissem
10、inationofthisinformationinJapan.AllofthemajorJapaneseEDMbuildersanduniversityEDMresearcherspresenttechnicalreportsonthelatestEDMresearchanddevelopmentsattheirannualconferences.AttheJSEME“AllJapanConference”heldinOctober1994,thirty-fivenewEDMreportswerepresented,includingthelatestresearchbyMitsubishi
11、,Sodick,Makino,Hitachi,andtheleadingresearchcentersestablishedatJapaneseuniversities.The“JournaloftheJapanSocietyofElectricalMachiningEngineers”(Japaneselanguageonly)istheirofficialpublicationwhichprovidesthelatesttechnicalinformationontheJapaneseEDMindustry.FromarecentannouncementbyProfessorYasuoKi
12、moto,currentPresidentofJSEME,theSocietywillcoordinateanew“InternationalJournalofElectricalMachining”(IJEM).TheaimsoftheIJEMare:1)topropagatethelatestscientificandtechnologicalnewsinthefieldofelectricalmachiningmethods,2)toexchangeexperiencesinputtingelectricalmachiningintopractice,and3)informaboutth
