5、?01：54Wedidthat。TheHarvardStudyofAdultDevelopmentmaybethelongeststudyofadultlifethatseverbeendone。For75years,wevetrackedthelivesof724men，yearafteryear，askingabouttheirwork，theirhomelives,theirhealth，andofcourseaskingallalongthewaywithoutknowinghowtheirlifestoriesweregoingtoturnout.02:24Studiesliketh
6、isareexceedinglyrare.Almostallprojectsofthiskindfallapartwithinadecadebecausetoomanypeopledropoutofthestudy，orfundingfortheresearchdriesup，ortheresearchersgetdistracted，ortheydie，andnobodymovestheballfurtherdownthefield。Butthroughacombinationofluckandthepersistenceofseveralgenerationsofresearchers,t
7、hisstudyhassurvived。About60ofouroriginal724menarestillalive,stillparticipatinginthestudy，mostofthemintheir90s.Andwearenowbeginningtostudythemorethan2,000childrenofthesemen.AndImthefourthdirectorofthestudy.03：14Since1938，wevetrackedthelivesoftwogroupsofmen.Thefirstgroupstartedinthestudywhentheywereso
8、phomoresatHarvardCollege。TheyallfinishedcollegeduringWorldWarII，andthenmostwentofftoserveinthewar.AndthesecondgroupthatwevefollowedwasagroupofboysfromBostonspoorestneighborhoods,boyswhowerechosenforthestudyspecificallybecausetheywerefromsomeofthemosttroubledanddisadvantagedfamiliesintheBostonofthe19
