2、ensively. The way I plan to deal with the passage will be different from detailed reading since the passage “A sad love story” is the second reading material in the unit. Developing students reading strategies will be the focus.While reading, get students learn to use some reading strategies such as

3、 skimming, scanning, and so on. How to find specific is the soul of reading.As to new words and phrases, the teacher can first find these students feel most difficult and help them to understand.The purpose of “A sad love story” is to introduce a cross-cultural view of lovers festival-Qiqiao Festiva

4、l and Valentines Day. Its set in a present-day context that students can relate to, and respond to.The teacher can first talk about the two festivals and the characters to lead the topic and then ask students to read the passage and do some comprehending exercises. While checking their answers with

5、the whole class, deal with the language problems students cant work out by themselves.This is an extensive reading lesson, so the learning of languages points should not be the key part. Help students develop reading skills is helping them in a bigger picture.Important points:1. Students develop rea
