1、谈谈多媒体时代的教师合作On Co-operati on Among TeachersIn Modern Times谈谈多媒体时代的教师合作Wilde内容提要:本文根据多媒体教学的优势和要求,结合本地本校的实际情况,提出了教师要 在多个方面加强合作,达到设备、资源、智慧的共享和互补,减少重复劳动和浪 费,弥补个人劳作的种种不足,以便取得更好的教学效果。It has bee n a hit to talk about Computer-Assist ing In structi on(gen erallyknown as CAI) in moder n schools. In fact, the

2、re are many othermediums in no rmal teachi ng apart from CAI though it is the soul of Multi-mediaInstruction.For example, the slide-showingmachine, anordinary tape recorder, and eve n the traditi onal blackboard, each plays a unique role in differe nt procedures.Whatever medium we use, we are tryi n

3、g to improve our efficie ncy and reduce our repeated effort. But shall we have to do everyth ing all the way by ourselves? As some facts proved, it was really a burde n, bey ond our tolera nee. So no wadays, in myop inion, we are caught betwee n the devil and the sea: efficie ncy and hard work.Can w

4、e find an effort-sav ing soluti on?There is a motto that goes: Suppose each of us has an apple, if we excha nge them, either you or I have only one apple; but each of us has an idea and we exchange them, then either of us has more than one idea.(by Goethe, a world- famous German writer). It s quite

5、essential for us to excha nge our con cepts, up-to-date in formati on, experie nces, skills or eve n our depress ing less ons in order to save us some trouble.How many aspects call for our co-operati on? My an swer is: more tha n6 aspects.1. Co-operati on in teachi ng pla nSo far, by the prese nt sc

6、hool admi nistratio n, all the teachers arerequired to have their teachi ng pla ns writte n, n eatly, and systematically although there are ready- printed plans in Teacher s Books in details. At the same time, they re also encouraged to prepare their lessons by puter. In other words according to the

7、 currentsituation, they reen couraged to have their pla ns prin ted.Someteachers, including the speaker, find it inefficient,at least,not econo mical. On the one hand, someteachers find it slower to type their pla ns tha n to simply write them, and on the other, more tha n one teacher carries out th

8、e same programme. A lot of manual work is repeated and thus wasted.But if we take tur ns to prepare our less ons and the files are to be shared and copied and pasted and printed,our work will be reduced to farbelow the traditi onal level. What isn eeded to do is make some n ecessarycha nges to adapt

9、 the no tes to differe nt classes. This reveals the truth of an old say ing that goes: more hands make light work.In this way, the teachers may concen trate on their methods and strategies.2. Co-operati on in sca nning the Internet ExplorerExploring the Internet is of great help and fun. Wecan trave

10、l around the world by clicking here and there. But it s also a great time -killer. There is so much useful in formatio n that I wish I had double life.If the teachers take charge of a few certa in fields, and dow nl oad the files when necessary, then we share the great resources, it will save us a l

11、ot of time and trouble, esp. from wait ing.Besides, the copied files maybe far from satisfactory either in form or in contents or in style. They require a lot of amendment. Usually, proof read ing also takes up a lot of time and en ergy.By lear ning from each other, or excha nging websites, we can o

12、bta in eno ugh and to spare. It s bey ond say in g that everybody should have someth ing to sell, or to excha nge.3. Co-operatio n in collect ing teach ing materialsWe ofte n say: see ing is believ ing. We may promote our teachi ng efficie ncy with the help of teach ing aids. Try to find some relate

13、d pictures, material objects, disks, video cassettes, and software articlesand so on.For example, a Chart of Pearl Land will remind the students of their happy visit to Pearl Land in arouse their interest in visitingit. Thenit s much easier to present the topic Disneyland .A Pack of Cigarettes will

14、surely attract all the stude nts and eve n the smell of the smokemaycause them to cough. They will say, “No smoking, please! ” Then they will have a lot to talk about.The sound of great wind will arouse their imagination ofHurricane.The sight of Band aid will suggest a cut or a wound, thus first aid

15、 should be give n.As far as collectingpictures is concerned, there re a lot of vividpictures in the directory of popular in Clipard in Office97.I find it most helpful to dem on strate a situati on by play ing a filmstrip. Take Charles Chaplin or Shylock Holmes for example. Their performances struck

16、the students and naturally the lessons were not easily forgotte n.But do you know how many classificati ons and types of pictures are stored? Howmanydisks in the audio-visual room can be adopted? Where can we find a suitablesituationabout pollution in a video-cassette/or a VCDdisk?If the teachers work in co-operati on, with each teacher see ing to one or two thi ngs, and making
