It is the intent of this process to have Dell SQEs assist 1st tier suppliers in the implementa

The 1st-tier supplier will then be responsible for managing it ongoing and report to Dell on performance to Quality.ScopeGlobal Supplier Quality Engineering and suppliers they manage.1.Definitions1.1. 1st Tier Supplier will be called “Supplier” thro

3、ughout this publication- A Supplier that sells products directly to Dell.1.2. Sub-tier Supplier ? A Supplier that sells components and products to Dells 1st tier suppliers.1.3. GQAM - Global Quality Account Manager (Responsibility WW 1st and Sub-tier supplier quality performance for Dell procured pr

4、oducts)1.4. JQE - 1st Tier Supplier Joint Quality Engineer (Works for 1st tier supplier, may be dedicated to Dell products) JQE is the interface between Dell SQE and GQAM on Dell products 1.5. Supplier SQE - 1st tier supplier Supplier Quality Engineer (Manages 2nd tier supplier quality for Dell comp

The intent of this process to drive fundamental Quality principles into the sub-tier supply base. It is completely acceptable to implement the tools as we have at Dell, but it is also

7、 acceptable for the supplier to implement their process and tools as long as their quality meets Dells expectations.5.Responsibility and Authority5.1.The SQE who is managing the activity/requirement is responsible for implementation and ensuring system sustainment.6.Minimum System RequirementsThe fo

8、llowing are minimum requirements of the sub-tier supplier management system. 6.1.Supplier Engagement (1st Tier) Identification6.1.1. Each 1st tier supplier should be assessed using this criterion to define priority of the sub-tier quality system implementation. This will ensure that the best return

9、on investment for Dell. $ Spend at Dell Volume shipping to customerProduct/Component utilization cross platform6.2.1st Tier Supplier Overall Sub-tier Strategy 6.2.1. The 1st tier supplier will provide Dell with an overall sub-tier supplier strategy. The plan will include as a minimum the overall sys

10、tem contribution to the reduction of VLRR, VIFIR and VFIR as appropriate.6.3.Critical Component Identification6.3.1.Critical component list will be identified and selected through the following data/methods. Component identification should be used on all new products as well as sustaining products i

11、f implementing this program for the first time. The following list is not all inclusive, but should give the SQE clear direction on selection of critical parts. 6.3.2.
