Or sometimes, we can not understand the behaviors of some foreigners. Here I want to share two stories abou
2、t the intercultural communication. The first is one I experienced. It happened when I was a high school student. Our school established a relationship with a high school in California. So some teachers and students from that school came to visit our school. My classmates and I acted as guiders to sh
3、ow them around. Among them, there was an old woman, and she seemed too old to walk stably in my eye. So I wanted to help her and I really did. I said “I can help you.” and supported her with her hand immediately. To my surprise, she got rid of me and went on walking on her own unsteadily. I didnt un
4、derstand why at that time. I thought that if the person I helped was a Chinese old woman, she would be very happy. Later, I found the answer after I asked my teacher. The old people in western culture dont think that they are inferior to the young. They still have a strong sense of self-respect and
5、dont want to rely too much on others. The second one is from a talk with a taxi driver. At the beginning of this semester, I took a taxi to school from the south bus station. The taxi driver was very enthusiastic and talked with me on the way. He said he felt very strange about the Dutch treatment t
6、hat the foreigners had. He said sometimes, he took some foreigners to some five-star hotels. Every time, the foreigners would share the travel expenses, even when the total money was only 10 Yuan. He wondered why they were so calculating. He thought that they couldnt be lack of money as they had the
7、 consuming ability to the five-star hotels. So why did they pay so much attention to such little money? I also have the same question. Because it seems that they were too strict to the Dutch treatment. But after I search the internet, I also found some different opinions among the foreigners themselves. So I think that may be it has some relation to some peoples personal habit?
