1、Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! It is a great honor for me to have this opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas. My presentation consists of five parts.Part 1 the analysis of teaching materialThis period of class is picked out from section A of Unit 6, do you like bananas? The topic is on fo

2、od, it is mainly about peoples likes and dislikes about food, which is closely related to everyones daily life, the teaching material in this part is a conversation, which is helpful to improve the Ss communicative/ reading ability.Important points:1. How to ask others whether they like the food or

3、not2. The countable nouns and their plural forms as well as the uncountable nouns Difficult points:The distinction between the countable nouns and the uncountable nounsPart 2 Analysis of the students The students have in their primary school, known words about food, including vegetables, meat, fruit

4、, etc. In fact, they have some proficiency of the words and expressions on food preferences. On the other hand, they have difficulties understanding the countable nouns and the uncountable nouns.Part 3 Teaching objectivesA.Knowledge objectives:By the end of this period of class, the students are exp

5、ected to master the following:a. Vocabulary: birthday, week, food, sure, vegetable, fruit, right, apple, thenb. Fixed expressions: how about, think about, sounds good, vegetable saladc. Sentence patterns: Do you like? Yes, I do. /No, I dont.B. Ability objectives:The Ss are expected, after this perio

6、d of learning, to master more words about food, and they can employ the sentence structures easily and skillfully to ask other peoples preference on food.C. The emotional objectives:By asking others preference on food, the students are to develop the habit to show care about people around them and f

7、orm good relationships with others.Part 4 Teaching methods: Task-based teaching method is mainly used. All the teaching activities focuses on the improving students ability and skills including listening, speaking, reading about food preference in English in their practical life.Part 5 Teaching proc

8、eduresAltogether, there are 6 steps for this period of class.Step 1 (1 min) is the lead-in: the time is about 10 a.m., I am a little hungry, I guess things are similar with the students, so by asking them the question if they are hungry, the topic about food is introduced.Step 2 the pre-reading part

9、,warming-up (5 min) I gave some pictures about food, asking them to name them in English Before the reading is carried out, I have the Ss read the new words to help them recall and remember which is very beneficial for their memorizing of the words as well as the comprehension of the conversations.

10、Step 3 reading (15 min )Read it together for the first time, then listen to the tape for correction.Ss Activity 1: read the conversations together to find out the countable nouns and uncountable nounsSs Activity 2:role-play the conversation, then do the multiple choice.Teacher activity: explain the

11、language pointsSs Activity 3: group work: read the conversation to find out answers for the questions in the ppt page.Step 4 post-reading: practice (3 min )Step 5 summary (2 min )ask the Ss to tell me what theyve learned today.Step 6 Homework (1 min)There are two assignments for the Ss to choose fro

12、m. Ss with higher level of proficiency are supposed to do Homework A, and Ss with lower level of proficiency are supposed to do Homework B, which is not so difficult for them. End the class with the proverb: an apple a day keeps the doctor away! I aim to encourage the Ss to keep interested in English learning because its quite interesting. So this is my idea of the teaching, any suggestions are warmly welcomed, thank you for your attention!
