1、Unit 19 The Merchant of VeniceI教学内容分析 莎士比亚(15641616)是英国著名戏剧家和诗人，是16世纪后半叶到17世纪初英国最著名的作家(本琼斯称他为“时代的灵魂”)，也是欧洲文艺复兴时期人文主义文学的集大成者。他共写有37部戏剧，154首14行诗，两首长诗和其他诗歌。马克思称莎士比亚为“人类母伟大的天才之一”。恩格斯盛赞其作品的现实主义精神与情节的生动性、丰富性。 莎士比亚像养料一样融入了英国文化的血脉，不仅成为英国人的骄傲，也成为了英国文化的象征。因此，对于英语学习者来说，很有必要了解莎士比亚以及他的作品。本单元为学生提供了这一机会，语言技能和语言知识都
2、是依据“莎士比亚与他的喜剧”这一中心话题设计的。 Warming up由两部分练习组成。第一部分给学生提供了莎士比亚作品中的一些著名对白，要求学生说出自哪部著作。第二个练习帮助学生更多地了解莎士比亚的作品，尤其是他创作的戏剧。Warming up旨在通过学生讨论及教师补充，让学生对莎士比亚的作品有初步的了解。 Listening部分对本单元的阅读作了铺垫，向学生介绍了威尼斯商人中的主要人物，他们的性格特征及故事发生的背景。本部分设置了不同的练习检查学生捕捉信息的能力。练习1提问了故事的地点、借款及还款方式，为学生呈现了故事的矛盾冲突。练习2设计的图表考查学生对故事中五个主要人物的身份、行为表现
3、及关系的理解。 Speaking要求学生结合课文和实际，就贯穿戏剧的“仁慈与报复”和“爱情与金钱”这两个话题展开讨论。在讨论过程中，学生不但要训练日常交际用语，还要在教师的引导下确立正确的价值取向，树立符合社会规范的道德体系。本部分的目的在于让学生了解，一部经典的作品之所以经久不衰，是因为其中的思想意义是深刻而超越时代的。 Pre-reading设置了两个问题，第一个问题要求学生熟悉戏剧中的主要人物；第二个问题回答鲍西亚将如何解救安东尼奥，就这个问题，教师可鼓励学生提供不同的答案，培养学生的想象力。 Reading是戏剧威尼斯商人的节选。好心的安东尼为了好友的婚事，向刻薄的犹太人夏洛克借钱，如
4、果还不出钱来，就得让夏洛克割胸前一磅肉。该剧围绕着“仁慈与报复”这条线索展开，到文章结束，故事进入高潮：鲍西亚宣布，根据法律，夏洛克从安东尼奥身上取一磅肉。故事不仅让学生领会到正义一方人性的闪光，同时也让学生能欣赏到鲍西亚和夏洛克之间针锋相对的精彩对白，充满了语言的魅力和智慧的光辉。 Post-reading的几个问题要求学生对戏剧中的关键人物进行个性及心理分析，在正确理解双关语的基础上，对角色语言进行判断，目的是进一步理解课文。 Language study分为两部分。词汇部分是对课文中出现过的几个词组进行检查；语法部分是复习直接引语和间接引语，通过把威尼斯商人中部分情节改编为对话及把两封书
5、信转换成间接引语，不但巩固和补充了课文内容，而且以语篇的形式复习了语法知识。 Integrating skills是阅读部分的延续，是戏剧中的转折点，也是最精彩的部分。由于鲍西亚的机智，夏洛克由主动变成了被动，最后不但不能从安东尼奥身上取得一磅肉，而且险些失去了部分财产。通过阅读，学生对剧本有了全面的认识，更加深刻地理解了文章内容和人物特征。Writing要求学生根据提供的故事改写短剧，并进行表演，培养学生改写短剧的能力及对戏剧的把握能力，同时在表演过程中培养学生的合作能力。 Tips向学生介绍了戏剧中的矛盾冲突，以及解决矛盾的方式。由于方式不同，戏剧也就有了悲剧和喜剧之分。 Checkpoi
