2、candals,anattackonourhomeland,andthedemandsofanongoingwaronterror.TogrowtheeconomyandhelpAmericanfamilies,weactedbypassingthelargesttaxreliefinageneration.Andtoday,thankstothetaxreliefandtheeffortsofAmericasworkersandentrepreneurs,oureconomyisstrongandgrowingstronger.Thispastweek,welearnedthatAmeric
3、aaddedover200,000newjobsinJuly.SinceMayof2023,weveaddednearly4millionnewjobs.Theunemploymentrateisdownto5percent,belowtheaverageofthe1970s,1980sand1990s.AndmoreAmericansareworkingtodaythaneverbeforeinournationshistory.hepastyear,thehomeownershiprateinAmericahasreachedrecordlevels.Thetaxreliefstimula
4、tedeconomicvitalityandgrowthandithashelpedincreaserevenuestotheTreasury.T公务员之家版权全部heincreasedrevenuesandourspendingrestrainthaveledtogoodprogressinreducingthefederaldeficit.Lastmonthwelearnedthatthedeficitisnowprojectedtobe$94billionlessthanpreviouslyexpected.Isetagoalofcuttingthedeficitinhalfby2023
5、,andweareaheadofpacetomeetthatgoal.TocontinuecreatingjobsandtoensurethatourprosperityreacheseverycornerofAmerica,wereopeningmarketsabroadforourgoodsandservices.Thispastweek,IwasproudtosigntheCentralAmerican-DominicanRepublicFreeTradeAgreement.ThishistoricagreementwillleveltheplayingfieldforAmericasw
6、orkersandfarmers,andopenupamarketof44millioncustomersforproductsmadeintheUnitedStates.Tokeepoureconomygrowingwealsoneedaffordable,reliablesuppliesofenergy.NextweekinNewMexico,Illsignabipartisanenergybillthatencouragesconservation,expandsdomesticproductioninenvironmentallysensitiveways,diversifiesour
7、energysupply,modernizesourelectricitygridandmakesAmericalessdependentonforeignsourcesofenergy.AndnextWednesdayinIllinois,Illsignahighwaybillthatwillimprovethesafetyofourroads,strengthenourtransportationinfrastructureandcreategoodjobs.Oureconomyisstrong,yetIwillnotbesatisfieduntileveryAmericanwhowant
8、stoworkcanfindajob.SothiscomingTuesdayIwillmeetwithmyeconomicteaminTexastodiscussouragendatokeeptheeconomymovingforward.AsCongressconsidersappropriationsbillsthisfall,wewillworkwiththeHouseandtheSenatetoensurethattaxpayerdollarsarespentwisely,ornotatall.Weneedtomakethetaxreliefpermanent,endthedeatht
9、axforever,andmakeourtaxcodesimpler,fairerandmorepro-growth.WellcontinueworkingonSocialSecurityreform.SocialSecurityissoundfortodaysseniors,buttheresaholeinthesafetynetforouryoungerworkers,soIllworkwiththeCongresstostrengthenSocialSecurityforourchildrenandgrandchildren.Illcontinuetopressforlegalrefor
