As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are

2、looking at a dragons tooth. This is a true story. 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.

3、 In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragons mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the backgroun

4、d all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20_, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao,

5、I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct ones error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an hones

7、 I think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. The reasons can be listed as follows.Firstly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time. Secondly, h

8、onesty, which is the traditional virtue of the Chinese people, can make our life easier and more harmonious. Thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. A case in point is that Singapore, a society featuring trustworthiness and integrity, has a comparatively low criminal rate. Responsbility c

9、an be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their baby.for teachers,both in kindergartens and colleges,they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students,that is to say,teahers

For learning and scholarship to thrive, academic communities cannot tolerate acts of academic dishonesty, such as cheating, misrepresentation. there are four fundamental values that characterize an academic community of integrity:

13、Honesty. The quest for truth and knowledge requires intellectual and personal honesty in learning, teaching, research and service. Trust. Academic institutions must foster a climate of mutual trust in order to stimulate the free exchange of ideas. Fairness. All interactions among students, faculty a

14、nd administrators should be grounded in clear standards, practices and procedures. Respect. Learning is acknowledged as a participatory process, and a wide range of opinions and ideas is respected. As graduate students, academic integrity is particularly important in the future when We expected to s

15、ervice to others and our societies. So How do we maintain academic integrity? First, We make the effort to understand what counts as dishonesty and why this is wrong. Then, We work hard to master the rules of academic disciplines and achieve personal academic outcomes that we can be proud . Meanwhil
