3、ies during the way. There is no easy way to climb up without paying. Likewise, there is no elevator to success, you have to take stairs.Im sure you guys have all tried doing a lot of new things. Whether its learning a new instrument , or learning a new language. You know , everyone who tells you tha
4、t the stuff is easy that you can do it overnight is clearly wrong. Everything that is worth doing is pretty hard. I mean, you guys know that firsthand from your experience. In order to master piano, you have to practice scales everyday to strengthen your fingers no matter how boring it is; to learn
5、a foreign language well, you have to start with the very basics and learn step by step. All these achievements, you know, its not about a single moment of inspiration or brilliance, its about years and years of hard work and practice. When it comes to success, there are no shortcuts.To clarify my vi
6、ew, I would like to give an example. Michael Jordan, the basketball superstar, its easy for you to see his achievements. However, what you dont see is the price of blood and sweat that he has paid on the court in order to come out on top. If you think that he was born to play basketball and is desti
7、ned to succeed, Id like to say that you couldnt be more wrong. Do you know the story that Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team because of his height? Instead of giving up,he trained harder and made more effort to shoot on court. Finally, he succeeded and became a popular basketball pl

To Jordan,its not about a single moment of inspiration or brilliance, its about years and years of hard work and practice.At last I would like to share a famous saying with all of you, that is: no pains, no gains. 11、to such a class of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background. A good example of success is that of Beethoven. He is one of the worlds most famous composers, yet he was deaf. He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he
12、 created. Yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals-that of composing music.To exemplify what success means to me, I pose a question to all of you. What brings us together here today? I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. The effect of pause and the sound o
13、f rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves. These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal
14、 child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. The other was life-like, full of details and imagination. What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.My ideal i
15、s to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children. These children have been neglected, but I feel that I can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.I realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way.
16、 But I believe in my ideals and I will stick to them-even in the face of adversity. We should never have a premature abortion of ideals-let the child, let our ideals, stand the challenge.
