It also help us to set up the scientific concept of happiness, and to find the terminal of ones own happiness.nThrough the contrasting analysis of the different concept of happiness, the movie glorifies the nature of people, presents a model of what all people should do, and shows the imperative need for the kind of humanity and all the parts convey the core of pursuing happiness: tenacity and persistence. Social Effectsu This movie The Terminal is shot in 2004 and is adapted from a true story. It is set in the JFK airport, and tells a story of happiness and pursuing happiness. Through the analysis of the concept of happiness of the main characters, the movie provokes peoples meditation on the meaning of life and happiness from both rationalistic and moral perspectives. This move is shot in 2004 and is adapted from a true story. It is set in the JFK airport, and tells a story that at the airport, because of passport problems, Victor with penniless plight goes over the ultimate success and gains the numerous respect. By glorifying the good nature of humanity embodied in the process of pursuing happiness, it enlightens the audience to be positive, persistent and faithful to their dreams, to devote and pursue bravely, and to find the terminal of their own happiness.Chapter 2 An Interpretation on the Concept of Happiness 2.1 The Connotation of the Concept of Happiness The concept of happiness is the core of Aristotles ethical philosophy. Aristotle believed that the good is the aim of all human actions and choices. 2.2 The Classification of the Concept of Happiness There existed in the history of western philosophy three major schools of thought about the concept of happiness and the good life, which exert a widespread and profound influence upon the research of concept of happiness even today. In the west, standpoints of happiness mainly have these genres: emotionalism concept of happiness, rationalism concept of happiness, and Christians concept of happiness. 2.3 “Three Dimensions” of Spielbergs Concept of HappinessThe first opinion of Spielberg is the same to Aristotles ethical philosophy that the good is the aim of all human behaviors and choices. Second, Spielberg also insists that human beings must attain happiness through their own efforts. Thirdly, Spielberg considers self-actualization as the ultimate goal of life. Chapter 3 A Comparative Analysis of the Concept of Happiness in the Movie The Terminal3.1 The Philanthropic Concept of Happiness The philanthropic concept of happiness is a part of rationalism concept of happiness, which emphases on the nature of human beings or the rational part of humanity. 3.1.1 Victors Optimism At the airport, because of passport problems, Victor with his optimism goes over the ultimate success and gains the numerous respect.3.1.2 Cleaner Guptas Self-actualization What really counts to him is not that he is successful in the narrow sense of the word but that he possesses a strong sense of mission. As for him, a spirit-oriented, virtuous life definitely outweighs a sheer material-oriented one. 3.1.3 Stewardess Emilys Devotion Victors appearance makes Emily realize her true feelings about love, and she dares to face her fate. She is so great that she can abandon true love for Victors dream, or she sacrifices herself for Victor, thus we should pay attention to her nobility and the spirit of devotion. 3.2 The Self-centered Concept of Happiness The self-centered concept of happiness belongs to the emotionalism concept of happiness, which supports materialism or egoism. 3.2.1 Franks Inhumanity Frank is the director of Customs 。
