2、essage/fact/idea/problem/ thought/suggestion/doubt/order等)之后,对其进行结解释说明 连接词:一般由that引导,也可用that/which/who/when/why/how/ whether/if 引导,定语从句 定义:在复合句中,修饰某一名词或代词的从句。 2 连接词 关系代词 that/which/who/whom(宾格) 关系副词when/where/why 所有格 whose (of which) 分类 限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句 用法,*who/that 都可指人,但下列情况只用who不用that a:当先行词是he/t

3、hose时 He who doesnt reach the Great Wall is not a true man. 不到长城非好汉。 Those who are against the plan stand here. b:“There be”结构中 There is a man who is blind here. c:当先行词是one/ones/anyone/anybody/no one时 The ones who have no questions can go home now. 4、re.,一| 限制性定语从句: 主、从句不用逗号隔开,从句对先行词起修饰或限定作用, 若省去句意不完整。 1:指人 连接词:who/that/whom,that/who若作主语不可省,作宾语可省; whom(宾格)口语中可用who/that代替 eg The man who/that will give a speech is a famous professor. The boy (whom/ who/that) you saw is our monitor.,2. 指物 连接词which/that在句中可作主语/宾语,作宾语时可省 eg We have visited the factor

5、y which/that makes TV sets. The factory (which/that) we have visited makes TV sets. * which/that都可指物,但下列情况只用that,不用which: a:先行词是人+物 eg. They talked about the teachers and schools that they had visited. b:先行词语是不定代词如all/everything/nothing/something/ anything/little/much等时 eg. I will tell you everythin

All that (=what) is needed is the supply of oil. c:先行词被all/every/no/some/little/much等修饰时 eg 所有募集的钱都被捐给希望工程。 All the money that was collected was given to the Hope Project.,d: 先行词被序数词/adj最高级/last/next/only/very等修饰时 This is the best book that I have ever read. 7、n in his office that was invited to the party. e:当关系代词在宾语从句中作表语时 中国不再是过去的样子. China is not the country that it used to be. f: 当主句是由which引导的特殊疑问句时 Which is the book that belongs to you? (Who is the girl that is dancing there?),whose 用作所修饰的先行词的所有格 a: whose 指“某(些)人的” eg. A child whose parents are died i

8、s called orphan(孤儿). b: whose 指物,表“某物的” eg 我住在窗户朝南的房间. /I live in the room whose windows face south. 12、 /This is the same book as I read last week. 这本书和我上周读的那本书是一样的。 This is the same/(very) book that I read last night. 这就是我上周读的那本书。,*as在定语从句中的用法 1. 在限制性定语从句中多和“such”或“the same”连用, 可代替先行词是人或物的名词 eg:,2. as引导非限制性定语从句 在非限制性定语从句中,as可代替整个主句,“正如一样” 可位于句首或句中,which代整个主句时只可放句中。 eg.:,As might be expected, John is

13、 admitted to the university. He is honest, as/which we all know. She is beautiful, as shown in the picture. As is reported, a famous star will visit our school. (不可说As it is reported, as充当从句的主语。) As everyone knows, all that glitters is not gold. (众所周知,闪光的不一定都是金子。),定语从句中的一些特殊情况 *当先行词是way(方式),其后定从可用th

14、at或in which引导,也可省略引导词。 reasonthat或for which或why place/spot(场所)where time /momentwhen.,eg. The way (in which/that )he worked out the problem is strange. She received the message that you sent her a few days ago.,同位语从句 定语从句,改错: 1 This is the question about that we discussed just now. 2 She has nothing which is good to say. 3 A teacher is a person what duty is to teach. 4 China is not the country what it used to be. =(China isnt what it used to be.) 5 As a poet points it out, life is nothing but a dream. 6 I cant find the book that I borrowed it from the library.,Goodbye!,
