If people have problems, they should keep them to themselves. keep意为“保留;保存”,其后的代词them指代problems。在本文语境下, keep them to themselves意为“把问题 (烦恼)埋在心底,不向他人倾述”。 在英语中,keep表示 “保留;保存;留存”的用法十分普遍。如:Will you keep the keys for me while Im away?在我离开的这段时间里请你代为保管钥匙好吗

She just kept thinking, “If I tell my parents, ”她一直在想:“如果我告诉我父母的话,” keep表示“(使)保持(某种状态或关系);一直”,后面接动词时,该动词要用-ing的形式,形成keep doing结构。如:It kept raining for a week. 雨一直下了一个星期。Just keep singing

In English, we say that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. 1) 动词share是“分享;分担;共同负担”的意思,如: share a room with someone (与某人同住一个房间), share a book (合看一本书), share a taxi
