2、 m. For ducts penetrating combustible floor/ceiling assemblies, maximum area 0.62m2with no dimension exceeding 1.22 m. Support Spacing 1 500 mm max. Duct Use Limitation Duct is intended for use in pressurization situations or maximum negative pressure 300 Pa within duct. 1. Masonry Wall or Floor Min

3、imum depth or thickness as necessary for the grade of fire separation but not less than 115 mm. Normal-density or low-density concrete. Wall can also be constructed of nominal 190 mm thick concrete block laid up with mortar. OR (a) Wall Assembly The fire-rated gypsum wallboard and steel or wood stud

4、 assembly shall be constructed of the materials and in the manner described in the individual Wall or Partition design in the ULC List of Equipment and Materials, Fire Resistance Ratings. OR (b) Floor/Ceiling Assembly The fire-rated combustible floor/ceiling assembly shall be constructed of the mate

5、rials and in the manner described in the individual Floor-Ceiling design in the ULC List of Equipment and Materials, Fire Resistance. 2. Ventilation Air Duct Duct to be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the Standard for the Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems, N

6、FPA 90A, 1993 Edition. Minimum thickness of steel permitted, 0.7 mm thick galvanized steel; maximum size of duct 600 mm by 2 100 mm nominal (1.2 m2maximum area with no dimension exceeding 2.1 m). For duct requiring a three-sided wrap (Item 3, Option A), top surface of duct to be located a maximum of

7、 200 mm from the bottom face of floor. Ducts requiring a two-sided wrap (Item 3 Option B), shall be installed such that top surface and one side of duct is located maximum 200 mm from bottom surface of floor and adjacent surface of wall assembly. For ducts with any dimension greater than 1 000 mm, a

8、 38 mm by 38 mm by 3 mm thick transverse stiffening angle, approximately 50 mm less than the maximum dimension, shall be screw attached 204 mm OC to the duct, 76 mm beyond the top surface of floor and both surfaces of wall (at the floor or wall penetration). 3. Duct Insulation (Guide No. 40 U21.9) (

9、HNNZC). 3M FireMaster Duct Wrap Calcium-Magnesium-Silicate (CMS) wrap, 38 mm thick, installed in accordance with the manufacturers installation instructions and shall include the following features: (a) Copper-coated steel insulation pins (not shown), nominal 3 mm thick, minimum 102 mm long, shall b

10、e stud-welded to the surfaces of steel duct to be wrapped at 305 mm OC maximum. For ducts 305 mm by 305 mm or smaller, no insulation pins are required. This material was extracted by 3M Fire Protection Products from the 2006 ULC Fire Resistance Directory(b) The performance rating of the duct assembl

11、y penetrating a masonry floor or gypsum wall assembly is dependent on the number of layers of duct wrap. The Stability, Integrity and Insulation Rating of a wrapped duct penetrating a combustible floor/ceiling assembly is maximum 1 h, independent of the number of layers of wrap. The 3M FireMaster Du

12、ct Wrap material is installed using one of the options described below: OPTION A - THREE-SIDED WRAP (i) For 1 h rating, one layer of 38 mm thick FireMaster Duct Wrap shall be installed around the duct and cradle support wrapped with perimeter joints butted tightly and longitudinal joint overlapped m

13、inimum 76 mm. The blanket material is installed on the bottom of the duct and cradle support and around the vertical sides of the duct with an overlap of minimum 76 mm onto the bottom surface of floor slab on both sides of the duct to allow for the installation of Clamping Plate (Item 6). All joints

14、 to be taped with pressure sensitive aluminum foil tape, 102 mm wide, or two layers of 76 mm overlapped to form a width of 102 mm with an overlap of 50 mm over each side. (ii) For 2 h rating, the first layer of FireMaster Duct Wrap is installed around the duct and cradle support wrapped with perimet

15、er and longitudinal joints butted tightly. The blanket material is installed on the bottom of the duct and cradle support and around the vertical sides of duct with an overlap of minimum 76 mm onto the bottom surface of the floor slab on both sides of duct to allow for the installation of Clamping P

16、late (Item 6). (iii) A second layer of blanket is installed over the first layer with perimeter joints butted tightly and longitudinal joint overlapped minimum 76 mm and staggered minimum 267 mm from the longitudinal joint of the first layer. All joints to be taped with pressure sensitive aluminum foil, 102 mm wide, or two layers of 76 mm wide aluminum tape overlapped to form a width of 102 mm, with an overlap of 50 mm over each side.
