1、THE BOOK REPORT OF Sophies WorlRecently I have been reading a famous book called Sophies Worl,its a philosophical book, but to my surprise it is not as difficult to understand as other such kind of books .On the contrary,it introduces many concepts of philosophy through the communication between a c
2、lever and cute girl named Sophie and a wise teacher calle Albert.It is not hard to see that the book is written for children but in fact it even has a big influence on the adults.The book,instead of telling a story ,aims at leading people to think about themthelves and the outside world over and ove
3、r again.Sophie goes through the ancient Greek to the Renaissance and she meets many famous people such as Plato,Socrates and Shakespeare.She learn many things about the talent of Da Vince,the Shakespeares splendid dramas and the in-depth ideology of every thinkers.Where Sophie comes,there must be th
4、e a essence of a great civilization.Sophie wants to seek the answers of so many mysteries,but to her disappointion,it seems that the more she learns, the more she doesnt understand.So Sophie is finding where her real world is,and so do I.The most cofusing question that perplexs me is “what Bob(mysel
5、f) is”.Yes,Bob is my name and when people shout like “Bob,come out!”,I know they are calling me.But am I only Bob?What will happen if I have no name?And the animals suan as cats,dogs and birds can also be called as Bob,what the differences between these Bobs and me ?I am a human-being,I have thought
6、s and feelings,but can I say other “Bobs”or other people dont have such things?What makes me differ from all other things and what Bob indeed is?After reading this book, I have my own ideas.I think myself is just a living being that is also made of cells and do daily things by the transmit of nerve
7、imulse as other creatures do.As component as concerned,all the living beings are similar. what make me differ from others are the experience,memory,feeling,dream and other things that exist in our inner world.The most important point is that I have a lot of desire such as flying to the space and imp
8、rove my living standard.Everyone has plenty of desire but the desire wont be the same.Our own desire make us twinkle among the thousands of people in the world.The aspiration to gain the wealth and the longing for fame force us to step forward in the long race of life.Then I also think about the quo
9、te-“ego cogito ergo sum”,it means that we become eternal because of thoughts.But what if we dont exist several years later?If we go to the grave someday,are we still alive?what on earth helps us be eternal?After travelling with Sophie who gradually discover the origin of the philosophy,I also increa
10、se my knowledge and skill on this question.I think that even if many famous people like Einstein , Gandhi and Deng Xiaoping are dead,they are still exist in our minds because of their contribution for society.I deem that if you have a lofty spirit that you are willing to help others or you devote yo
11、urself in the science field for the purpose of improving the living standard of all human,you will forever last in the universe.Sophies Worlis really a heuristic book which broaden our vision not only on the outside world but also the inner world of our own.Understanding0 the profound concepts of philosophy will not be a troublesome thing through this book.And you will be satisfied to ponder over the unvarying questions.In the end,you will discover yourself.
