4、e less about senseless violence and more visually attractive than Hollywood action movies.Both factors are female vote winners.Unlike American action movies,Chinese martial arts movies do not show violence purely for violence.Kung fu revolves around a strict morality code.The hero only fights as a l
5、ast resort.This morality code was central to Ip Mans plot,a semi-biographical account of the life of Bruce Lees celebrated kung fu master,Ip Man.Famed in his hometown for his kung fu abilities,Ip Man,played by Donnie Yen,refuses to practice his art in public.He only acknowledges his gift when forced
6、 to use it,during the Japanese occupation,to protect his family and community.But my main reason for preferring the Chinese kung fu style of action movie is that in Ip Man,I saw how fighting could be as visually beautiful and technically brilliant as dance.In Hollywood,most action movies are underst
