He was an expert on shooting horror thriller, besides universally recognized as The Master of Suspense. Psycho was produced by Universal Picture

It played a vital role in film history so that we regarded it as thriller masterpiece on behalf of Hitchcocks thriller film in the period of transformation. This thesis shows Psy

4、cho and Alfred Hitchcocks other works to expound the consistency of forms and themes.II. Themes1. CrimeHitchcock was the best-known and the greatest master of suspense in the world cinema history. Crime was one of the most important themes in his films. In his young period, Hitchcock showed deeply i

5、nterest in the crime. Therefore, he attended the trial of the case in the court, recording the details of the case. Moreover, the American writer Allan Poes novels had a great impact on Hitchcock suspend movie, because Hitchcock obsessed Alan Poes novels of his youth. The ingenious plot arrangement

6、and the audiences intense fear of crime cases formed the perfect combination of his unique Crime Theme which was the difference between the similar films and Hitchcocks criminal movies. Up to now, his suspense films also had been seen as classic.In the first half of Psycho, Marilyn, heroine of Psych

7、o, strongly pursued steady emotions and dream marriage. In order to own a bright future with her boyfriend, she carried public funds on the lam, causing a fatal disaster. He opened the Psychos subject of crime in the chapter. Then Marilyn arrived Bates Motel, thus it was another beginning of a crime

8、. Since she touched a sensitive nerve of the Bates whose another personality was coming out. Thus, he brutally murdered her in the bathroom. This scene of murder in the bathroom of Hitchcocks interpretation become the unique crime theme mark. Crime often consisted of bloody scene and direct violence

9、 which were completely undisguised in most peoples conventional concept. But it was difficult to see the regular imaginary crime scene for the audience without overly bloody scenes and indirect crime of violence in Hitchcocks movie.At the beginning scene of North by Northwest, a group of people used

10、 violent means against the leading actor. If you slowly watch the same scene in the small screen of the editing controller, you can clearly see that the bad guys do not done anything for the leading actor. However, people strongly feel crude behavior and the impression of violence under one after an

11、other compact short and the slightly movement of the camera lens.(Truffaut 2006, P221). Similarly, Hitchcock use subtle expression to show the crime plot and closely linked the heart of the audience so that they were put on edge in the movie named Rear Window. Moreover, there were not murder, violen

12、ce and bloody scenes. It only through three times crossed the lens by getting in and out of the salesmans, showing the whereabouts, time and Jeffs reflection. It allowed the audience to feel a kind of fear and understand the fact that the salesman murdered his wife.As well as, it more obviously stoo

13、d out Hitchcocks feature of the crime. The murderer broke into Jeffs room to throw him out of the room. There were only twisted hands, face,the leading actors feet and the murderers close-up, along with a fast-paced movie. Consequently, it was clearly for the audience to feel nervous and understand

14、the murderer who wanted to kill the leading actor. Crime had become the landmark theme works of Hitchcock. Compared with others works of the same theme, he was particularly prominent in his crime movie by unique shooting style and skill.2. PeepPeep is an immoral act, but almost everyone has a psycho

15、logical instinct that also meets the needs of peoples subconsciousness. Hitchcock said: I assure you, if you see the other side of the yard before going to the bed,most of the people will be massively tempted to watch it.If there is a woman undressed, or just a man in the cooking room.(Truffaut 2006
