9、辆）、摩托车和轻便摩托车85999辆，分别占机动车总数的13.7%、85%。按实际居住人口计，每百人拥有的机动车为9.8辆（其中汽车为1.19辆/百人）。近几年温岭市机动车增长快，1997年以来机动车年平均增长率达到了20%，其中摩托车（含轻便摩托车）为19.6%，汽车为29.5%，可见，随着经济的发展，温岭市的交通方式正在向机动化迈进。2城市道路系统（1）道路指标2000年底，温岭市区城市道路总长度为55公里，路网密度为4.7千米/平方公里，其中24米以上城市主干道总长13.6公里，路网密度2.77千米/平方公里。城市道路广场用地共为217.11公顷，人均为8.56平方米。（2）路网分布现状
10、温岭城市道路系统沿市域公路形成了树枝状分布的格局，其中主城区（原太平镇）将逐步形成了“二纵二横”的主要道路（并非全是规划的城市主干道），并逐渐向四周放射的道路系统。（3）道路交叉口温岭市区城市道路交叉口基本上为平面交叉口。受道路线形及其它一些因素的影响，温岭市区城市道路存在畸形交叉口，如北山路与虎山路、万寿路与东辉路交叉口（环型）以及县前路与方城路交叉口等；万寿路与鸣远北路之间的道路交叉口间距较短（不足100米），诸如此类，给交叉口交通工程设计和交通组织带来了一定的困难，限制了交叉口通行能力的全面发挥。此外，道路两侧建筑物开口过于靠近交叉口（有些建筑物的开口甚至直接对着交叉口），直接影响城市道
