1、There be的语法形式及引导的特殊句型汉中市委党校 王 珂在函授英语第一册中,讲到这样一个语法点,就是“there is (are )+名词词组”的结构.它常常用来表示“什么地方(存在)有什么人或物.”这里的there只起引导作用,引出这一结构.is (are )是谓语动词,后面的名词是主语。There is后接单数名词,There are后接复数名词.由于我们在这一册中还要学习英语的其它时态,所以there be的结构不仅仅是一般现在时的时态,还有一些其他的时态形式。在实际应用中还有一些特殊的句型结构.一. There be的时态形式.There is a new school in o
2、ur neighbourhood . (一般现在时)在我们这个地区有一所新学校.There was half a tankful of petrol in the car yesterday . (过去时)昨天在这辆小车里有半罐汽油.Next year there will be 300 pupils at the school . (将来时)明年在这所学校里将有300名学生.There have always been wars in the world . (现在完成时)世界上一直有战争.There had been a leak in the chemical container bef
3、ore it exploded . (过去完成时)爆炸之前,在化学反应罐里一直有渗漏.There must be peaceful answers to the worlds problem . (情态动词)对世界问题一定会有和平的答案.注：there在下列句子中的作用是不同的。一是作副词，另一是作引导词。 Put it there . 你把它放在那里。 there作副词 There is a policeman here . 这里有一个警察。 there是引导词这种句型中的主语是非限定的，不可用the ,this ,that ,these ,those等词修饰，不可用“all every +
4、名词”作主语。如： There is a man at the door. 对 There is the man at the door . 错 There are all the books in the case . 错 There was everyone in the room . 错二主语的修饰语在there be的结构中，作主语的名词词组还带有其修饰语，常见的修饰语如下：There is a man with a red cap at the door . 介词短语在门口有一个戴着红帽子的男人。There is a car ready for us . 形容词有一辆为我们准备的车。
5、There is no one waiting outside . 动词-ing短语外面没有人在等着。There was a ship sunk last night . 动词-ed形式短语 昨天晚上有一艘沉船。There is nothing to blame . 不定式）没有什么要责备的。There are some people（that）Id like you to meet. 形容词从句）有一些人我想让你见一见。三There be 的一些特殊句型there being和there to be “there being ”是指there句型中的be采用动词-ing形式。“there b
6、eing 名词词组”一般出现在书面语中，可以用作状语和介词的宾语。例如：A .There being no further business, the meeting closed at 11：30. 因为没有别的议程，会议在11：30就结束了。 B .John was relying on there being another opportunity . 约翰指望还有另一次机会。注：在“v for ”结构中，for后面用there to be作宾语。例如：John waited for there to be another opportunity . 约翰等待有另一次机会。“there
7、to be ”和“for there to be ”是there句型中的be采用不定式形也是书面语。“there to be ”可用作下列动词的宾语：ask, expect ,hate ,intend ,like ,mean, prefer, want等。例如：People expect there to be more discussions . 人们期望会有更多的讨论。当there to be用作主语时，前面要带for 。例如：B .For there to be no latecomers was unusual . 没有人迟到，这是不常有的事。“there be no 结构”“ther
8、e be no 动词-ing形式 ”“不可能，”相当于“It is impossible ”。例如：A .There is no telling what will happen to them . 无法知道他们的未来。B .There is no accounting for her behaviour 无法解释她的行为。常用于此结构的还有there is no bearing ,there is no knowing等。“there be no 名词”A .There is no point （in）telling her anything . 没有必要告诉她什么事情。B .There i
9、s no sense in electing her chairman . 没有理由选她当主席。常用于这一结构的还有一些其它的动词，例如：there is no need （没有必要）；there is no use （没有用）。“there be 形容词to be名词词组 ” A .There is certain to be trouble on the border . 边界上一定有麻烦。B .There is likely to be a large audience .可能会有一大批的观众。用于这种句型的形容词常见的还有：bound ,due ,liable ,sure等。“ther
10、e 动词to be 名词词组” A .There seems to be trouble at mine . 对我来说似乎有麻烦。B .There happened to be nobody in the classroom that day . 那天在教室里碰巧没有人。这一句型常用于描写事物。经常用的动词还有appear ,continue .“there 动词名词词组”这种句型常用于描写事物。句意的重点在主语部分，不在动词。句中的动词必须是不及物动词。例如：A .There may come a time when Europe will be less fortunate . 当欧洲处在
11、较不幸的时候，可能会出现一个机会。 B .There took place an elaborate ceremony in honour of some distinguished guests .为了对一些卓著的客人表示敬意，举行了一个精细的典礼。there引导的句型的被动式这一用法只限于极少数动词，如expect ,consider ,believed ,mean等。 There are expected to be more budget reductions .预计有更多的削减预算。在实际的应用中，有的已经成为一种固定句型。例如：There is expected to be （预计有）,There is said to be （据说有）,There is believed to be （据信有）,There is thought to be （据认为有）等。
