3、e about 10 feet long and they weigh about 1, 000 pounds. 它们大约十英尺长,重约一千磅。 (1) 10 feet long 是一种表达长度的方法。在英语中,常用表达长、宽、高的结构为:数词+量词+形容词。,(2)表达长、宽、高还可用复合形容词即“数词+量词(单数)+long/wide/high. . . ”表达,中间要加连字符,常用作定语。 (3)weigh在句中作不及物动词,意为“重”。Weigh 还可作及物动词,意为“称重量”。weigh 的名词形式为weight, 意为“重量”。,3. 6、. for sb. = provide sb. with sth. 意为“给某人提供某物”。,6、But its hard to stop riding in cars. 但停止开小汽车却很难。,(1) 本句是动词不定式作主语的常用句型,其中it是形式主语,真正的主语是不定式短语。其句型结构为:Its+ adj. + to do sth. (2)stop 作动词,意为“停止”,其后可接动词不定式,也可接动名词,但意义不同:stop to do sth. 意为“停下来去做某事”;stop doing sth. 意为“停止做某事”。,7. You have probably never heard
