1、Chapter TwoCeremonial Speech礼仪祝辞Part I Background ReadingCeremonial Speech Ceremonial Speech is a speech that you give at ceremonial occasions that reaffirms a communities bonds and values and/or strengthens ties between individuals and groups. It has three functions: to explain a social world to li
2、steners, to display the speakers eloquence, and to shape and share community ideals.There are many types of ceremonial speeches, including introductions, welcomes, farewells, award presentations, acceptances, thank-yous, toasts, after-dinner speeches, sermons, prayers, and commemorative speeches suc
3、h as tributes, eulogies, keynotes, inaugurals, and commencement speeches. A welcome speech marks the start of any special event or occasion requiring a formal opening. The focus of the speech is always the audience and the goal is to make them look forward to whatever is coming next. To strike the r
4、ight tone in the language you use by considering the audience and the event. Is it fun? Is it serious? Think about the common interest everybody shares. This will give you clues to guide your language choice.The essential elements to cover in your welcome speech are: To generally welcome all the gue
