When the connective is since, the verb/verb phrases in the main clause, when referring to an action, is usually in the present perfect or the

8、st sentence is a preposition, and that in the second sentence is a connective, meaning “ up to a certain time/ up to the time when”. Other examples:Ill stay here until she comes.
