In operational terms, incidental and intentional learning can be distinguished by whether or not participants are told in advance that they will be tested immediately after the experiment. B

As vocabulary learning is concerned, incidental vocabulary learning refers to the learning of vocabulary as the result of any activity not explicitly geared to vocabulary learning
