1、The Translation of American Slang under the Perspective of Cross-cultureChapter One IntroductionAs we know, under the influence of globalization, the communications between countries are more and more frequent and active. It is inevitable to exit cultural interpenetration between countries. Culture
2、is a special heritage of each country, which reflects the national characteristic and sprit. However, the national culture is different, maybe conflicting. When we communicate with each country, we have to learn how to correctly use each others language and culture. It is very important to avoid unn
3、ecessary conflict. The cultural differences of the two countries, we need to study more translation method which makes the culture of the two countries is blended and used mutually.This paper studies the cultural difference in China and the United states. 4、an also let the public accept. Sino-US cultural differences are obvious. American culture is relatively more open, and historical culture is also more briefly. Chinese culture is of long standing and well establishes and has the rich history color and has experienced a long time. Of course, there is
5、 denying that the culture between China and the United States have common characters. Slang originally considered vulgar and used at the bottom of the class society. Until now, it is very naturally used in the public. It has an indispensible part of human life. It is no longer considered as the symb
6、ol of the vulgar, becoming a kind of culture, blending with the ordinary life. When we are in the different country, if we are not properly understand the local culture we will cause unnecessary misunderstandings. So the cultural study is especially important.For the spread of American slang, we sho
7、uld hold the attitude of seeking common ground while putting aside differences to accept and absorb and treat differences between countries slang with understandings, and further strengthen communication and utilize slang reasonably. We also know how to discard the dross and select the essence, not
8、accepting the whole. Good slang should be used widely and promoted. If we can correctly translate the American slang in the China, which can promote our communication and cooperation and strengthen the common sense of the two countries and stimulate the economy of the two countries. 1.1 Definition o
9、f SlangSlang is a form of language. Modern American slang is a verbal language, commonly used in daily oral communication. Advanced Learning Dictionary of Modern English make the following definition to slang: Slang is generally used to talk, but not suitable for the strict form of writing or inform
10、al occasions, especially referring the idiom to the certain class. 1 Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English gives its explanation for slang: slang is usually not used for solemn occasions of speech or writing. It is considered the informal and rude language which is used among certain sectors. I

As we know, Americas history is very short, but in just 200 years the，United States has experienced a lot of things that can affect the world. In different historical periods, the Americans created the words belonging to that
13、 period, these words widely spread, accepted popularly by the American people. And passed down by people from generation to generation, finally they become a symbol of the historic words. At the19th century, Westward Movement of American continent, many Americans immigrants moved to the west, a larg
14、e-scale population movements causing to all sectors of dialects and various regions of the term, slang become merge gradually.
